MemberThere’s a new ice rink in Canterbury. Have any of you skated on it?
From what I can tell, they tested it out last year and have decided to open it to the public now. It’s a tennis court which they pour water on. I’m not sure if they groom it or if they just spray more water on to keep it smooth’ish.

” title=”Smiley” />[s:2n0zjb23]I tried updating our skating map (https://slapshot.hellyer.kiwi/off-topic/skating-map/), but I seem to have forgotten how on earth you stick new pins in it. If you happen to know how, please let me know as it's driving me a little batty right now!!![/s:2n0zjb23]
The skating map has now been updated with an estimate of the location of the rink (I may have gotten the exact location wrong) … https://slapshot.hellyer.kiwi/off-topic/skating-map/

MemberWe’ve played inline hockey on worse courts than that Kyle
” title=”Tongue” />Anyhows, square edges make for more excitement when the puck gets jammed in them

MemberIMHO, if it has ice on it and it aint natural, it’s a rink
” title=”Tongue” />This is me filling it with water:
[img:wz73tkg8]http://ryanhellyer.net/wp-content/uploads/2007/07/me-filling-the-rink.thumbnail.JPG[/img:wz73tkg8]The finished product after it froze over night (-20 deg. C temperatures helped)
[img:wz73tkg8]http://ryanhellyer.net/wp-content/uploads/2007/07/frontyardicerink.thumbnail.jpg[/img:wz73tkg8]And here’s me skating on it on Xmas day wearing the “Kiwi” clothes my mum sent me. She didn’t send me a jacket so I was skating around at -15 deg. C in a T-shirt
