This Saturday afternoon at 5:30pm at the Dunedin Ice Stadium, the DIHA are organizing a game between OBHS and Kings. Current AND former students are eligible to play, so if you are an ex student of either of these schools (particularly Kings who are short on players), please post back here ASAP or contact Bronwyn McLaren.
This game was clearly biased from the beginning as the best player from Kings is currently at the World Championships ” title=”Tongue” /> (Damien Watson)

If you have been a student there, even for an hour, or been a teacher, student teacher, heck if you’ve even taken a drunken dump on the grounds I’m sure we can count you as a former Kings High student ” title=”Smiley” />
April 9, 2011 at 11:21 am #16853imported_RyanMemberThis game turned into a farce. A large proportion of the Kings players were drinking before the game and three fights broke out in the first 15 minutes so the referee’s called the game off.

not impressedApril 12, 2011 at 4:57 am #16859Azzy77ModeratorYeah I agree, why was there no reek during this fight, it is goddamn hockey, if these schools are reakless, then they must have been playing it wrong, probably forgot to wear their gloves.
From what I hear there was particular players from the Kings side inciting all the trouble, and I have heard many people walked away disgusted with the behaviour, if guys want to fight, join a boxing club, or do karate or something.
Fights happen in hockey, but normally as a consequence of something that happened, not because guys went there with the express desire to fight…

April 13, 2011 at 12:12 am #16862thirteenMemberwhats all this reaking business? i dont understand reak? seems a little unfortunate to me that the game happened to fall on the night of the nicest saturday theat we have had in a while. Cant really blame the guys for drinking before hand and sum guys just like to fight when they are drunk.
A fight also takes 2 sides or it is an assault, so blame cant be squarely placed on those who incited the “violence”. Kings vs OBHS is never going to end well people should have known better, it is all good and well to wish for better and expect better in respect to your own morals but as you see life doesnt always pan out as you had planned.
Seems to me to have been a poorly planned match with nothing riding on it except the option of having a bit of a rumble and maybe a game of hockey, which the latter is quiet hard to do on a staurday night after you have been drinking all dayApril 13, 2011 at 1:20 am #16863aston head of statisticsMemberthis sort of behavior should be keeped on the dirty stinken streets of dunedin where it belongs i bet i know a few hoons who would start this sort of trouble that boy Williams and that Mcaleavy and the rest of there whora friends i see them out regularly on a weekend highly drunk abusing the wounderful folks of dunedin and it looks like there have tried to turn the thunder dome into there weekend boxing ring -->
its flameing crazy they should be but in jailApril 13, 2011 at 9:27 am #16864ChrisMemberAston, your pointless, tongue-in-cheek faux outrage isn’t nearly as amusing as you imagine it to be.
