Quite a few years ago, I obtained permission to copy and paste a history of the DIHA which has been sitting on the DIHA website since, but has never been updated.

Would anyone be keen to write some updates for it? If so, just post them below and I’ll shunt them up to the live site along with a credit in the footer to whoever writes them. The last update was in 2003, so there’s definitely a lot of stuff that needs added to it.

    All help is greatly appreciated <img decoding=” title=”Smiley” />

We should add some photos to it too. Chris Morgan scanned a whole stack of photos from the Big Chill days which I had obtained from Cy Newton. A bunch of those would be quite suitable for it.

Umm, I can do that. But I might edit it as well. It wasn’t really written for a web site.

    Awesome.

And yeah, it could do with a big upgrade. When I posted that I was adding about a bazillion other things to the site and planned to eventually get back to it and rewrite it, update it etc. etc. but  I must have forgotten about it. I only noticed it today as I was having trouble getting that page to work (URL kept screwing up).

I’ll hunt out those old photos at some point so we can use those on it too.

I’m quite keen to keep that section maintained as it’s the sort of information which could easily be lost in the midst of time. There’s not many people still around from the early days of the DIHA so it would be nice not lose all that history. I’m sure in 100 years time people will be fascinated by what happened back in the dark old days before the Thunder graduated to the NHL.

A properly web-formatted history of the DIHA would be excellent.
