    Whats happening?
    Have I missed something is there hockey happening in  early Febaury?

    Are you asking if ice hockey is part of the masters games this year?

    If so, then yes. I don’t know if it’s in February though, I haven’t been sent much/any information about it.

    Masters Ice Hockey…..open to men over 35(as at 4/2/08), Fri 8 to Sun 10 Feb 2008, $750 per team Team numbers 11 min and 16 max.Entries close 5.00pm on 9.1.08 subject to late entry conditions.

    It’s also open to women over the age of 30 according to what I’ve heard through the grapevine.

    I understand there’s supposed to be a couple of international (Australian?) teams coming, so it’ll be good ice hockey to watch, as long as you can ignore all the walking sticks and mobility scooters <img decoding=” title=”Wink” />

    One of the Australian teams is down a goalie at the moment, so hopefully they (or the organisers) sort out something before their first game.

    Ice is booked for the next two wednesdays the 30/1 And 6/2 at 6.30 pm for masters practice.

    If anyone is intending to take photos at the master games, I would appreciate some photos to put here on the site. I’d particularly like something to put up as a featured news item on the home page.

    Same goes for any other hockey too actually. If you have some pictures, a nice story or whatever else to go on the home page as a featured news item then let me know. Since it’s the off-season I haven’t had anything very news worthy to put up yet, but hopefully now that the season is gearing up for 2008 there will be a constant stream of news to put up there. Pictures are the most important thing I need though. I can usually cobbled together some sort of story out of tidbits of information, but photos are harder to make up <img decoding=” title=”Tongue” /> Stick figures in MS Paint don’t quite cut the mustard unfortunately <img decoding=” title=”Tongue” />

    Saturday February 9

    I’m not sure why they didn’t stretch it out some more and have the games on the Sunday as well.

    I believe the Brisbane Rusty Blades are supposed to be very good, so those games might be worth watching. They games are 3 x 15 minute periods, non-checking, no slap shots.

    A message to all our old folk out there (masters) The scheduled practice has been bumped from tommorow night. It may be available thursday night but will keep you posted.
