I know midgets start tomorrow, but does the SNC and that start as well?
February 27, 2008 at 12:16 am #7972KyleMemberYes.
Everyone (Junior, SNC, Women, Open/Contact) etc should turn up at 7. I presume there’s going to be a fair few of us, so it might be that the session gets split pretty quickly, but they won’t know complete numbers until after registration on Sunday.
But we’re all paying for Thursday’s session as it’s one of the 30 trainings everyone gets this year, so turn up.
February 27, 2008 at 1:33 am #7973TomMemberIs Juniors going ahead?
February 27, 2008 at 2:13 am #7974battered_and_bruisedMemberI don’t think so, but don’t quote me on it
February 27, 2008 at 2:40 am #7975KyleMemberJuniors won’t be a grade in the southern league this year, but it will be a grade at nationals.
All juniors will compete in the open grade with the contact seniors.
But all juniors should come to the 7pm Thursday practice until it splits. I presume they’ll split to an open contact practice.
February 27, 2008 at 2:44 am #7976ChrisMemberSorry, just to get things clear, I turn up this thursday at 7 and we all practice together until the numbers are such that the practices can be split into the different grades?
Also, I know I have to pay some $$ soon, but how much and to whom? $175 for the first half of the year was what I was told. Am I supposed to have paid this already?
February 27, 2008 at 3:45 am #7977imported_RyanMemberThe following news items should clear everything up:
http://dunedinicehockey.hellyer.kiwi/practice-times-2/
http://dunedinicehockey.hellyer.kiwi/midgets-practice-back-on/If there’s no Juniors grade, the only option they have is to play in the seniors grade, either SNC or contact/Premier (or whatever it is called).

February 27, 2008 at 9:42 pm #7978KyleMembercontact/prems grade is now called Open, in the SIHL. It’s not yet entirely clear how it’s going to work, I presume that clubs would just enter teams as per normal, but there was discussion of mixing up the players.
A precise date for paying for first half of practices was never mentioned at the meeting, but if you haven’t paid by end of March, don’t expect to be allowed on the ice. The second half was set however – that has to be paid by June 2.
February 28, 2008 at 11:00 am #7979KyleMemberThursday nights will be split from next week. Non-checking players (women, Beasts, people who have moved up from beginners, other SNC players) at 7pm. Checking players (juniors, senior checking players) at 8pm.
