Well because I’m such a nice guy, I thouht I would get a desktop wallpaper made for th Thunder. This website I frequent (and no it’s not porn you sick bastards) has a fellow on it creating destop wallpapers using the new RBK Edge jerseys. I asked him to do one for the Thunder. So here they are, all finished for people to use. Also, if you have any requests for other teams, ask me and I will forward them on then post them on here once they are done.
800×600:
1024×768
March 16, 2008 at 10:32 pm #8183KyleMemberWill he do it again in 1920 x 1200? And with the shirt not covering the T in thunder?
(Yes, I have a really big screen. Helps when you do design work)

March 16, 2008 at 11:56 pm #8185KyleMemberSweet. What a nice guy Ryan Wick is.
March 17, 2008 at 5:09 am #8186imported_RyanMemberSo is this the official colour scheme for the team?
March 17, 2008 at 7:00 am #8187imported_RyanMemberI’ve posted a news item about your wallpaper … http://dunedinicehockey.hellyer.kiwi/thunder-wallpaper/
March 18, 2008 at 8:21 am #8188battered_and_bruisedMemberYes it is official…speaking of which, you think we could make a Thunder website at some point?

[/quote:23uu89j3]I certainly hope so. We’ll just someone to design it – it’ll need a different brand etc.
March 18, 2008 at 9:35 am #8190imported_RyanMemberI’d like to add a special “Thunder” page here to the DIHA site, but I don’t have enough information for that to be viable just yet.
I’m happy to code something for a “Thunder” specific site and stick into a CMS. But I don’t have the time to design it.
If someone can supply a total mockup of exactly what it needs to look like and exactly what it should be able to do, I could patch something together in an evening. I wouldn’t suggest anything too exotic feature wise, it’s just a team site, so a simple set of pages, including player profile pages would be best IMO.
I’d rather not host it myself as I’m taking on a few too many freebie sites at the moment and my host will pack a wobbly if I start using too much resources.
Chris, is there any chance you could handle the traffic for it? I doubt it would get a huge amount and I’m sure no one would mind you getting a link in the footer to your blog in return.Someone would need to pay for a domain name too. The cost for a .co.nz domain name is ~$30 and a .com is around $15. See http://godaddy.com/ for more info on domain names.
PS: In case anyone doesn’t know what a CMS is … CMS stands for Content Management System. They allow users to log in and edit the pages directly via a (supposedly) idiot proof admin panel. So you guys could edit it yourself without relying on me or anyone else to do the editing for you even if you don’t know anything about web design.
April 22, 2008 at 5:57 am #8191imported_RyanMemberI met with the Thunder teams marketing person Rieke Stackman today. She is keen for a website to be built for the team.
Any volunteers to help out with hosting it? Mike? Chris? Julian? Anyone else?
