MemberI was looking on the IIHF website for the up coming world champs for the U20’s and I know from last year, New Zealand got promoted to play in Division 2. I looked on the website for the roster and to my surprise, New Zealand is not in the Division 2 world champs for U20, which are in Spain. Also I looked on the U18 ones after I saw this and they are not there for the Division 3 ones either. What’s going on? Did they pull out or what?

MemberThe U18 coaching position is still advertised on nzicehockey.co.nz. But yes, the U20s are out sadly.

MemberU18s are in. Theres a Coach (George Pilgrim) but no assitant. Weres it say they aren’t?
On the NZ website it say the U20s New Zealand teams out because of economical problems and not enough players.
I had a look on the International Hockey Forums and it said that the whole U20 div 3 was out to.December 14, 2008 at 7:30 am #9516Regan

MemberYup, congratulations!
I remember being able to skate rings around you guys, but I suspect I will be getting a serious ass whooping next time we’re on the ice together.

It’s easy to slash/trip a player who skates by you at speed. Their fall is that much more spectacular!!!

MemberThe U18s lost to Australia 7-0 in their opening match, and beat Chinese Taipei 4-1 in their second match. The team includes Dunedin players Reagan Wilson and Harrison King, and Gore Thunder players Heath and Dane Dunlop.
You can follow the tournament here: http://www.iihf.com/channels0809/wm18-iiia
They’ve got South Africa and Mongolia to go.

Does it bother anyone else that the Chinese continually pressure international organisations into banning the use of the name “Taiwan” or “the ROC”?
