And yep, I’ll be there to watch the games.

MemberOne catch with having live TV coverage is that I’m quite tempted not to even bother turning up at the rink. The novelty of watching the game live on TV is very tempting. I wonder if it will hurt tickets sales or boost them from the extra advertising?

ModeratorExtra advertising where is the initial advertising?
August 18, 2009 at 10:30 pm #13117Kyle
MemberAn interesting question. As far as I can tell, there’s no advertising at all.

[/quote:13w4i15y]In SkyWatch, TV guide, the newspaper etc. Basically anywhere that posts what is coming up on TV.

ModeratorYeah but that is hardly advertising to get people in the crowd.
No one looks at tv guide and says I am off to the rink. and especially bad if they go at Sunday 12 pm when the game is on tv but not at rink.It will look bad on tv if there is an empty stadium.

MemberI was told that winter games are taking care of the advertising. What that means in reality… not much?

MemberIn Christchurch, The Rock Radio Station, had an intro for the winter games in Dunedin but went on a 25 second rant about the bledisloe opener between the IB’s and Aus and to link off the Rock website for tickets, prizes and PJ double pass. I assume the broadcast at 8am was a national broadcast

[/quote:1s6hjxtj]My family heard it advertised on a radio station, and that it was expected to sell out. I’m dragging the whole family of 4 out on Sunday.
