Im going one each both team have equal teams it will come down to goalies as most tough games do good goalies win games but great goalies win championships. Both teams have stengths and weakneses that are cancelled out by each others.

haha yea im going 2 to the stampede because they have the talent that the red devils have up front, plus they have better defense and a better goalie. they can also play physically, which combined with the skill they have should leave the devils for dead. all it will take is a couple of good hits from argyle and eaden wont show his face, spiers will find holes all over the place, glassy, braden and the rest will just flat out crap all over the devils defense.
play hard boys, and reap the benefitsThe only response I’ve ever seen from Eaden to a hit is to get up with a big grin on his face (he also manages to dodge a crapload along the boards). I think he likes being hit.
Lets face it Eaden is the wunderkind of NZ hockey, the Jimmy McAlroy if you will. Who has that many points it is absurd.
What the Stampede need is a Chazz Michael Michaels to combat him. I am sure some like Braden or Hayden would be up to the task.

yeah, but that could be said for any number of teams except possibly the Swarm, but the Devils are scoring heaps more goals than conceding, do the maths!

This is going to be a sick, sick game in Chch. I think Stampede will win both, we all know the Devils dont like pressure based on the last few years in big games. Devils ARE looking better and more confident than ever I think, but the depth and experience in the Stampede squad is pretty impressive, and they will definately be more physical i think. Sure Argyle will throw his weight around as always. This will be an epic matchup boys.
Someone needs to rig up that online commentary system we discussed a while back. I’d love to listen in on the action live while it happened.

I don’t think that with the short season it gives a realistic goalie statistics. Rick let in the same number of goals in one game as Zak in 2!
If you look at the last couple of years you would more than likely find that Zak would come out on top.
Stats are a wonderful thing and can be used to whoevers benefit!
Actually Rick never let in 14 goals in one game, I think you will note the goalies changed in that awful game…..
Also Stats are what you make of them, I think you will probably find over this season Zak has faced almost half the shots Rick has, and is less than a Percent better than him in his save percentage.
If I had to pick a goalie to play for my life, out of the NZIHL it would be Rick.
You also have to rely on accurate stats being kept, I think you will find it varies from scorebox to scorebox what constitutes a shot. Vpatrol will tell you more about that.

yea rick is by far and away the best goalie in the country, ask anyone who has seen him play this year, especially in those early games when he was getting 30+ shots a period.
