1-1 after 1st (stampede scored on a 3 on 0. Devils on a scramble in front)
3-1 after 2nd
3-2 in the end. Eaden scored with about 1 minute to go.We just didn’t show up and play. Stampede beat us fair and square. Refs were fine. They let the game play. Penalities were pretty even. We’ll see what tomorrow brings. I’ll reserve judgement until then.
July 25, 2009 at 12:12 pm #12702imported_RyanMemberI forgot to add that the score I reported before was courtesy of Clive Murphie of the Aardwolfs Ice Hockey Club[/url:nfkxwx9x]. Thanks Clive ” title=”Smiley” />

3-2 to the Red Devils at the end of the first period. All five goals were scored in the first five minutes of the period!
July 26, 2009 at 6:34 am #12704imported_RyanMember5-3 to Red Devils at the end of the second period. Very close game apparently.
July 26, 2009 at 7:09 am #12705kelf6966MemberFinal 7 – 4 to Devils, Stampede ended up with 5 in the Bin ???
July 26, 2009 at 7:19 am #12706imported_RyanMemberApparently the end of the game was very scrappy, hence the five players in the bin.
July 26, 2009 at 8:30 am #12707vpatrolMemberlots of guys in the bin but the game still ended 5 on 5. Scrap down in my end. Refs were pretty even handed although I’m sure there will be complaints as always.
July 26, 2009 at 8:38 am #12708plod16MemberToo many dumb penalties late in the game!! The facial that Eaden got at the end of the games is just one example! Targetting one player will fail as there are 4 others on the ice at any one time.

whos the better team then!July 26, 2009 at 11:33 pm #12710cowgirlMember"plod16":2la4tvyv wrote:Too many dumb penalties late in the game!! The facial that Eaden got at the end of the games is just one example! Targetting one player will fail as there are 4 others on the ice at any one time.
[/quote:2la4tvyv]Again my point of very one sided refereeing! Are you trying to say their were no cheap shots coming from the other side??!! You would have to be pretty naive to think anyone’s gonna believe that.

[/quote:2la4tvyv]I would say to very even teams physically, Stampede had major problems finishing off. The Red Devils have some wicked forwards that as it’s been said before are ‘unstoppable’! Will be interesting to see the result when they meet again. Could go either way.
July 27, 2009 at 12:14 am #12711KyleMemberLooks like the teams are coming closer together as the season progresses. Devils/Stampede split, and Admirals had a 4-4 tie and a 3-2 loss to Swarm. Hopefully Thunder can continue the trend next weekend against a Stampede team that are clearly playing pretty well.
The CRD-BSW rematch is last weekend, end of August. Those two games might decide who gets home advantage for finals, could be a good couple of games to watch.
July 27, 2009 at 12:43 am #12712Chin StrapMemberPlod 16 – Refs didnt see, once the whistle was blown Edan cross checked a 15 year old in the back of the head putting him to the ice, he was not targeted at all by anyone. He just got what he gave less actually.
Ask anyone sitting in the crowd down that end
July 27, 2009 at 12:46 am #12713Chin StrapMemberoh and good win by Stampede on Sat and Good win for Devils on Sun
Cant wait for the QT round
July 27, 2009 at 12:47 am #12714vpatrolMemberthere were tonnes of cheap shots and not just devils. Stacey and Braden were in form as expected. It’s going to happen when two physical teams play. Nobody got hurt and the penalties were pretty even. Therefore the scorelines reflected the play and not the penalty box for both games.

[/quote:2k7hizvx]Haha. That post made me laugh.
Why bring age into this? I, for one think it’s absolutely ridiculous that you did. I’m sure Chris wasn’t thinking “F*** yeah this kid’s only 15! Easy target”. This was a small after the play tussle. From what we saw from the bench, someone approached him, probably started chirpin’, and took a crosscheck from Eaden. That was Stampedes 3rd line, I would not at all be surprised if the coach told the young guys (Connor and Dane were out on that shift with Braden Lee) to go rough Eaden up and get his head out of the game, maybe draw a penalty on him. Good idea to send your young boys out to do that when you have a guy like chris out there. But Chin Strap, FFS, why would you bring age into it as to suggest that Eaden is some kind of bully or goon because he crosschecked a younger player. I’m sure If it was Braden he crosschecked you wouldn’t of written that Eaden crosschecked a 20 something year old. The way you mentioned his age suggests you think he should have special treatment. If you play in a physical game, you are going to get hit/sticked/crosschecked whatever, regardless of age. Just my rant.
Connor Harrison is definitely one of the most skilled 15 year old player we have had in the league to date. I’ve known him for a few months and is a super nice kid so don’t think i’ve got something against him.
