If this is meant to be a trial, and they have already chosen not to play? How will jeff fill the spots left by them pulling out.
If they have ruled themselves out of IB’s shouldn’t those spots go to people that if chosen are willing to play?Like I have nothing against picking those guys, but if it is a trial then shouldn’t only people that could play IIHF be going?
Yeah yeah, fair call. I guess they are still up there as far as being NZ’s ‘All Stars’ which is why they have been chosen. It is only speculation that it is an Ice Blacks Trial. Si’s not playing anyway now that it’s Sunday!
Here’s the low down:
The New Zealand Ice Hockey Federation is proud to announce the inaugural NZIHL All-Star Game. We are calling the game Skate Of Origin 2009! The game will be played on Sunday September 27th at 5:00pm at Paradice Botany in East Auckland.This contest will pit mate against mate, as players will represent the island they first learned how to the game of ice hockey. The game will be played by New Zealand Rep Team eligible players. The North Island Team will boast players from all five NZIHL Teams and will face the very best players to ever come out of the South Island.
This year will mark the very first NZIHL All-Star Game and will go down in the history books as yearly highlight.
The two teams will clash for the Glass Family Shield. A stunning silver plate is named after the Glass Family of the South Island with three generations of contributors and builders of the sport within New Zealand. Ben Glass is a founding member of the NZIHF and Patron of the SIHL. Graeme Glass is the Past President of the NZIHF and recently inducted Life Member. And of course there is recent Ice Blacks Captain, Simon Glass.
It is set to be a fast, hard hitting game and is the last chance to see NZIHL action in Auckland in 2009. Ticket will be sold at the door and will be $15 per adult and $10 per child under 16 years.
AND THE JERSEYS ARE AWESOME!

based on what I saw this year of thunder (4 games only) Duncan outperformed some of the d listed. Vlok scored a couple on me since he was the only guy to work hard in front of the net. He gets credit for that. After that though, I didn’t notice him too much. Jordane created the most attention.
