We’ll get you next time! Watch out in the finals! We’re coming Bullfrog huntin’
We just need to practise our shooting next week and will be ready to pepper the back of your net with a flurry of pucks. Either that or we’ll be ready to deliver the Stars a thumping like they gave out tonight.

Worked really hard to get piles of shots on Stephen to work the percentages, and pretty much managed to shut down the Roth boys. Nick had a good game too, keeping out all but 2.
They skated their little butts off too. So happy.

I suppose we could look on the bright side… we get to thump OBHS next week…. again….. tongue.gif let see if we can break the record of 17-nil…..Now you be nice to OBHS. They had a rough night last night – no Duncan Sykes didn’t help them.
And, they came a lot closer to beating SK8 than you guys did!

Posted: Oct 20 2005, 09:25 AMso i guess that means STARS vs BULLFROGS and BEARS vs SK8 next week in the semis then huh, then finals after that…… bullfrogs can handle sk8, but can they withstand the powerhouse that is the stars….? History is not on the bullfrogs side… an embarrassing 5-1 loss on their previous encounter with the stars is perhaps not something they will be dwelling on.. although it may have hardened their resolve…. but based on the opening statement of this forum, the bullfrogs seem to be puffing themselves up, a little too much some might say…. only time will tell ( and maybe last times score, 5-1)

Posted: Oct 20 2005, 11:39 AMActually, that game we had four shots miss off the posts. So we’re just going to have the goals made 3, maybe 4 inches bigger, and we’ll be set.
Stars are probably the form team since the second round, so it’ll be a big ask, but the goalie is due for a ‘mare, and a selective hamstringing or two of a couple of key players…

You’ll be playing the losers of the SK8/Bears game in the final week.
So, we’ll see you next year. Keep practising.

Hey Hey, congratz to the bulfrogs!!! They’re on their way to stardom! biggrin.gif‘stardom’? Nah, we’re way better than those Stars.
We were all very happy with how the team went last night again. Top defense keeping Simon, Matt, Zanzee and the rest of the Stars down to one goal – we’ve been keeping the shots right down the past two games, and it’s working well for us.
All the guys – from beginners up to Sam and Shane – are playing well. Bring on the Bears.

Posted: Oct 27 2005, 02:38 PMyea kudos to the bullfrogs, they did have us pinned down like a bunch of little bitches. if they keep that huge defense line up for the final, they should take it easy. haha well in a few days i will be back in waihi beach, so never fear kyle. i might add we had 4 shots off the post, so maybe if the goals were made 3, maybe 4 inches bigger, and we would have been set……..

Posted: Nov 3 2005, 02:15 PMYea, top notch effort, what a game eh biggrin.gif I think the spectators got about as excited as the players them selves… *cough* becky *cough* but man, was that a cool game to watch. Well done guys!

Posted: Nov 3 2005, 03:34 PMlol, yeah, but it was intense standing behind that goal when it came down to the wire… couldnt have had it any othher way! bring on next year!
kyle
Posted: Nov 3 2005, 04:36 PMWell, we had the game, but we let in those two last goals for them to finish with 5, and it was hard work from there. Probably a should have won, but also I think we did incredibly well to get past sk8, stars, and to get onto 5-3 up in the final.
So while I’m gutted we didn’t win, I’m really stoked about how we went. And like anyone said, you couldn’t have put on a better final if you wrote it for a movie.
And there are few things as weird as having Damien Watson coming towards you, and knowing you need to watch for every other player on the ice scoring, apart from him, because he’s got his 3 goals. That’s hard to get your head around!
