Steve Jackson will know, or Mike Sam, they know everything there is to know about hockey
March 10, 2011 at 1:21 am #10340imported_RyanMemberEmphasis on the [b:1q3u0hxn]most[/b:1q3u0hxn]. And that is only a reference to gate takings. There’s plenty of other ways to pilfer money from people from hockey games.
[quote:1q3u0hxn] allow them to take [b:1q3u0hxn]most[/b:1q3u0hxn] of the profit [/quote:1q3u0hxn]
March 10, 2011 at 1:22 am #10341Paul RothMember“Also I tried googling their hall of fame broadcaster Terry Toulet, and it asked if I meant Terry TOILET?”
Is this close enough? There is a page on toilet hockey at: http://www.coffeeswirls.com/?p=985
March 10, 2011 at 1:30 am #10342imported_RyanMemberSome more conversation about the scam:
http://forums.internationalhockey.net/s … p?p=194284March 10, 2011 at 4:13 am #10343KyleMemberThe only announcers even a little bit close I can find is Terry Ficorelli: http://www.nancysajdakmanning.com/html/Link3.html
But he’s never done NHL games.
Terry Crisp does Nashville analyst work?
There’s no Terry, and no Toulet in the relevant sections of the Hockey Hall of Fame. Google and Wikipedia have nothing.
Maybe they misspelt Aaron Bryant?

One of the options they are looking at is the Allen Cup champions (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Allen_cup) which is the amateur champion in Canada. The Allen Cup champions sometimes tour other places as Team Canada endorsed by Hockey Canada. A lot of players who could have paid pros, but chose a different career.Paul, that’s exactly what the Canadian Moose do. There’s another similar organised based in New York. That’s largely what Douglas Webber have organised – a piss trip with a sideline in hockey.
[/quote:17uinwzc]From what I remember, the Allen Cup is the top “seniors” competition in canada. It regularly features ex nhlers and pros on its teams. Theoren Fleury played in it prior to his comeback attempt for instance (whilst sober). Essentially, if I’m right, they would wreck any of the other teams in the winter games. Correct me if I’m wrong.
March 10, 2011 at 11:23 am #10345vpatrolMembertheir advertising has gone from misleading to down right confusing. If its the Moose, which is Toronto based, are we getting any Americans playing? Do they expect a high tempo game with 10 skaters and 1 goalie? Hard hitting but no injuries? Promising a game the likes we have never seen is curious considering the pace will probably be pedestrian. 10 skaters over 60 minutes is impossible to sustain a high level. I imagine an NZIHL would be more exciting even if the skill level is lower. An NZIHL team has players who are actually playing to win to the best of their ability. They aren’t an ice version of the globetrotters.
March 10, 2011 at 6:05 pm #10346KyleMemberI doubt it will be 3 x 20. They’ve discussing using different times – it might be 3×15 or 4 x 10 or something.

On the Moose Brochure they list someone called Kerry Goulet, maybe that’s who they meant? Is he in the relevant sections?

[/quote:2o1k0qh2]So charging NHL prices (top market prices) but you only get potentially 66-75% of the game time? Count me in especially cause my favorite nhl superstar will be on the ice for 50% of the game.
March 11, 2011 at 6:40 am #10349KyleMemberThere’s a Canadian Ball Hockey Hall of Famer called Kerry Goulet? Also played some ice hockey in Germany.

[/quote:5c14cxzt]If they’re fringe NHLers, they must be bringing Edmonton. They’re almost good enough to play in the NHL these days.
March 11, 2011 at 7:19 am #10351vpatrolMemberhow else will the bottom half teams get wins? Someone has to keep Chicago and Detroit from getting the number 1 draft pick.
March 12, 2011 at 9:11 am #10352imported_RyanMemberNew Facebook page about this scam:
http://www.facebook.com/pages/Internati … 2040214798March 12, 2011 at 9:24 am #10353imported_RyanMemberThis is all getting beyond silly, so I’ve taken Chris’s approach and filed a complaint with the commerce commission too. I recommend you all do the same. The more people complaining, the more likely they are to do something about it.
