I just signed up to the DIHA via the ClubHub system which I hear most (all) of the other clubs in the country are using now. It seemed to work ” title=”Smiley” />
I was intending to custom build something for the DIHA to do this sort of thing, but was told that they’d be using ClubHub this year so stopped development of it until seeing how ClubHub panned out.
How is everyone finding it? Is there anything which needs improved? Or is everyone fairly happy with the current setup?
I’m not a huge fan of paying $6 (I think that’s what it costs) to have registrations processed online. That’s no big deal for a small club, but when you put a few hundred through that amounts to quite a few thousand dollars which should be more than enough to have a fairly kick butt custom system built. However if it does the job, it may be best to stick with it rather than me trying to re-invent the wheel and building something which has more problems that ClubHub (if I screwed it up).
The main thing I was intending to include in the system I was building, was an online payment system, but I’m thinking that could easily be setup separate from ClubHub anyway, just have everyone pay their fees via PayPal/credit card. This does take a small-cut of the payment (like ClubHub does already) but it automates the cash handling process and so reduces the amount of volunteer work required to collect cash, process it etc.
So … are there any major bugs/problems with it? Or should I shelve all plans to build an equivalent system for us to use for free?
