I can start to play if people need players – I was going to say something to Kara on Sunday night at training but forgot.

Let me know, so I can sort out money for rego etc.

I thort the sharks oldtimers game was good.
7-1 win for the sharks and a few of the oldtimers showing they couldn’t handle the pressure.
All and all hockey is hockey, there is alot of bitching in the game of hockey and everyone has to stop beings such girls about it and relise its part of the game. Nothing wrong with a bit of verbal abuse between a couple players or even a wee nudge (aslong as the ref doesnt see). Roughness is just in the nature of the game and thats how it will always be.

I’ll back on that comment , hockeys a rough sport. If you dont like being pushed etc dont play. So excactly right, roughness is the nature of the game and if you dont like it dont play it

Yeah. While I didn’t feel the game was played in good spirit by either side, I didn’t feel I was cheap-shotted or penalised by the Sharks at all, nor did I see that go on, though my teammates certainly felt that they saw/felt it. As you say, the pressure wasn’t handled well at all by the Oldtimers.

I did have a real problem with my teammate sticking his hand around an opposing player’s throat after the whistle, and then wanting to continue things in the changing room. It really is just a game. People should take it seriously, but try and keep their maturity levels above a primary school brawl.

Nothing further might come of it, but it was worthy of a Game Misconduct and an appearance before the Disciplinary Committee. If the Sharks player had reacted physically at all, say by removing the hand, I suspect punches would have been thrown and it would have gotten real messy fast. And if people want their sport to be boxing, they should go to boxing.

I was playing but didnt see any of the things that triggered the flare ups ( i was playing hockey! ) so can’t comment on them – however a couple of things i will note – Regan and Tom: you guys played well and skated hard and fair – some of your team mates however need to understand sportsmanship, respect for opposition and where to draw the line – but some things they did went over that line i understand but acknowledge some (not all of us ok) of my team mates didn’t help the situation i know…  I said some words in the changing room after to diffuse things i hope.  for the record i actually enjoyed the game.

I don’t have a problem with pushing and fighting its just a part of the game. No one is going to get injured by a punch or a copule of nasty words.
I don’t think that it was a unpleasnt game in anyway (exepect in the changing room afterwards) there was nothing too bad just a copule of wannabe tough old guys who wear red helmets. All and all its Hockey if you can’t handle it go play Bowls or something.

Yes I must say “Red Helmet Man” was rather aggressive for little or no apparent reason during one of our our games.

The weirdest thing is that Red Helmet Man is a tiddly wee bugger. Tom would own him in a fight!

Tom would get owned by a majority of primary school girls, so don’t agree with you there chris.

Graham is our enforcer. It goes without saying, he’s kinda crap at it, but it keeps him happy in the changing rooms.

There are people out there who would find being owned by a bunch of primary schoolgirls kinda fascinating
