Wednesday 15th MarchHi everyone,
Our schedule is now available for download at:
http://www.geocities.com/dunedinicehock … dule06.pdfOur first game is at 7pm against Kings High school. We’re also on duties for the game afterwards so some volunteers would be much appreciated smile.gif
Also, if anybody has any spare gear or knows of anybody who does have some, could you please get in touch with our teammate Sandra Maca who has no equipment yet. Her email address is sandramaca@hotmail.com.
See you all on Tuesday smile.gif
Cheers,
Ryan

Also, incase some of you don’t already know. There is a beginners hockey practise at 5:30pm and a social game (open to all) on at 6:30pm every Sunday night for any of you who are needing/wanting some practise time before the season starts.
cheers,
Ryan
Tuesday 14th MarchHi everyone,
My name is Ryan Hellyer and I am your new team manager for the Autumn 2006 DIHL smile.gif Our team name is … er … Ryan! That’s a little weird I know but it should be changing shortly – I hope! It seems Kyle (that’s that really tall guy who organises stuff) doesn’t know what team uniforms we’ll be supplied with so has named our team after me!? Once the uniforms are sorted we’ll be renamed accordingly. I don’t have a copy of the schedule as yet but thought I’d let you know that we haven’t forgotten about you and that I’m the person to see if you can’t make it to a game/need transport etc. I’m also the person who will probably be handing out our uniforms each night.
If any of you will be needing transport then let me know asap and I’ll see what I can do, there’s usually heaps of people cruising in from all over Dunedin so finding rides for people isn’t too much of a hassle. Our current team list is as follows….
Matt Aitken
Timothy Honore
Darcy Knyvett
Sandra Maca
Julian Munster
Matthew Reay
Claire Rewa
Toby Schuck (G)
Abby Green
Andy Noble
Mark HarebWe have two NZ reps on our team and Kamakazi Matt so we’re fairly well off for good players and we have some players who have only started playing in the last week or so. So a nice combination of experience and complete lack of experience. I’m out of action at the moment as I blew my shoulder out of it’s socket recently from a rather unpleasant check into the boards so wont be playing in the first few games of the season for sure and may or may not be playing later on depending on whether my shoulder heals in time.
Erm, trying to think of other stuff I need to tell you all …..
Equipment: You will all need helmet, skates, stick, shin guards, elbow pads and a mouth guard. The helmet, skates and stick can be supplied as long as you paid the extra $10 at registration. The rest may or may not be available at the rink on the night, depends on what’s lying round you see. Gloves, shin guards and elbow pads don’t have to be actual ice hockey gear so you can get by with some crappy ski gloves, soccer shin guards and some junky elbow pads from the warehouse if necessary. If you have any issues with getting hold of any of this gear then leave a message in the forum (address at end of email) and we may be able to sort something out for you.
Duties: Every week or so we’ll need to provide some goal judges and possibly a time keeper for another game. I’ll sort these duties out beforehand. Volunteers are very appreciated though smile.gif It’s quite unpleasant having to chase after people to do the duties and I’d rather have people just offer out of the goodness of their heart smile.gif
The rest of the team lists should be posted on the website soon. If you have any questions I suggest posting them on the web forum or if you don’t like that you can direct them straight to me at ryanhellyer@yahoo.co.nz.
