    Couple of posts were rung with Bryant completely beat and some near miss shots.

    If you hit the post, the puck wasn’t going in, so I don’t know if that counts as beating the goalie <img decoding=” title=”Tongue” />. I don’t even think that counts as a shot.
    Besides its like Charlie told Coach Bombay sure if you had shot half an inch lower it would have gone in, but if you had shot half an inch higher you would have missed completely.

    Like I told James when the posts start counting as goals, I will stop using them to make saves…..

    (NB// I know those two paragraphs totally contradict each other, with one saying hitting post doesn’t count as shot, and the other saying using posts to make saves. But I don’t care)

    Your argument is that you knew those pucks were going to hit the post, so you didn’t bother saving them? Sure….

    I have a very close relationship with my posts, (not as close as roy and his) but we communicate during the game. If they think they have got it, they yell “mine” and I leave it too them.

    But posts don’t count as shots, Check it out…….

    SECTION 4?SHOTS
    Article 1. A shot on goal is a shot that is on target. Results of a shot on goal must be either a save by the goaltender or a goal by the offensive team. A shot that hits the post
    or crossbar and does not cross the goal line is not a shot on goal. If a skater blocks a shot headed toward an empty net,it is recorded as a blocked shot and thus not a shot on goal.Only a
    goaltender can record a save.

    Aarons doing a masters degree in statistics, he did confidence interval calculations in his head to determine the likely hood of the puck going in the net, he then cross referenced that with the amount of energy needed to make the save and the amount of energy he needed for the rest of the game combined with the energy he actually had left to determine whether or not he could use the post to make a save

    i think the formula would be

    D = P(G)+(EG-ES)

    where
    D = Decision
    G = game
    E = energy
    S = save

    The Midgets whipped the Bullfrogs pretty heavily last week (9 – 0 I think), but I’m picking a tighter game this week, more like 1-4. The Bullfrogs know what they need to do to stop those pesky little pint sized speed machines now :p

    The Superfly lost to the Chiefs last week, but the Superfly will be back with a vengeance this week to take the win. The Superfly weren’t expecting a bunch of old geezers to give them such a hard time, but they’re wise to the Chiefs tactics now and will stop the Chiefs offense (Ben Wallis) dead in their tracks.

    Any picks for the A-grade?

    Heh, my Bullfrogs vs Midgets pick was pretty good. Ended up being 1 – 5 to the Midgets. Stefan and Olivia played in goal but didn’t swap ends so Bullfrogs had Stefan in goal for two periods. The Midgets still had too much speed over the Bullfrogs but we did step up a little in some areas in particular the defense. Personally I was a lot happier with my own game. I’m getting more comfortable with using my shoulder (had surgery on it a while ago) and so my poke checking has improved a lot.

    Anna Craw brought the media along as it seems they’re creating a short documentary about her hockey playing antics. They interviewed me, although it became quickly apparent that it is more like a documentary about sexism in hockey as every question was relating to gender bias in the sport. I somehow managed to keep my trap mostly shut on the issue (I have strong views on the matter). They told me we can post the video here once it’s ready so you will all get to see.

    Second game was interesting to watch. The score was 4 – 0 I think but I have no idea which team was which.

    I wonder if my picks for tonights B-grade game will be as accurate as the last one?

    Oh, I definitely have opinions about gender equality in hockey:

    Yes, Mallory is a considerably better hockey player than you. Thanks for pointing it out.
