October 13, 2009 at 12:45 pm #13861imported_RyanMemberChiefs vs Bullfrogs showdown in the B-grade tonight. Apparently we have the mighty Neil Dudley in the pipes for us (the Bullfrogs) for the rest of the season so we can expect to see some serious puck-stopping action going on.
The Chiefs beat us fairly convincingly last time around, but with Neil in goal and a much improved team now we should have a better shot at giving them a run for their money.
My pick is 4-3 to the Chiefs. Californian import Brett to put two in the net for the Bullfrogs, both on breakaways. Keith Dickson will pick up an errant puck off a rebound and I’m going to fire one of my legendary 5 MPH wrist shots up the boards but miss and accidentally sink it in the net … I tried shooting at the goal last week and it somehow ended up wrapping around the boards (yeah, I missed by about 20 m!) so this time I’m using reverse psychology on the puck.
Sonja Woods will chip one in for the Chiefs after a limp wristed shot from the point bounces off of Neil into the slot, another will scored by German superstar import Rieke Stackman during a heavy tussle in front of the Bullfrogs net, another will be scored by Dave Patchett via a perfectly aimed shot from the high slot and that tall guy whose name I don’t know will muscle his way through the Bullfrogs defense and sink one top shelf.

Now, what are you implying about seeing some serious puck-stopping action with Neil?

[/quote:bbd8g7ds]That Neil stops lots of pucks. I think he had the top stats in the B-grade last time I checked.
October 14, 2009 at 1:32 am #13865Rhys MMemberSo any picks for the A grade tonight, any on the FYC?
October 14, 2009 at 3:45 am #13866ActiveMemberDepends Who shows up but I would say 5-2 to the stars. The Fine young chaps will find it hard to score on us and we will pepper the goalie with lots of shots

I fired one at Brett’s stick but missed by about a metre and ended up hitting skate and getting a deflection straight into the net ” title=”Smiley” />
I also got another goal by weaving between the Chiefs stationary defense and firing it top shelf on Stefan … lesson for the Chiefs, don’t stand there waiting for the offense to reach you as they’ll just skate around you when they get there, either skate backwards or push the wide away from the goal. I ended up just stepping around them and having an easy shot on goal.
Overall the Bullfrogs played much better than in previous games. The Chiefs forwards seem to have a bad habit of crashing in on their defense. There were a few times when there were five Chiefs players only a few metres in front of their own goal line. Bullfrogs had a few head aches with players not subbing on as they weren’t paying enough attention and the forwards were relying on “up the butt” passes rather than cycling or booting it across the ice. Not much point in slowly plodding along looking for a pass between your legs as you aren’t moving fast enough to do anything with it if you do receive the pass and chances are you will miss it because receiving passes from behind a bitch to receive. Plus the defense don’t know where to pass it since the players sticks were usually in front of them.
Bullfrogs player of the game was Kara Ross. I don’t know who got player of the game on the Chiefs.
October 14, 2009 at 9:17 am #13868ActiveMemberWell prediction out the window with a 5 all draw with the stars scoring in the last 10 secs to even it. Juniors getting harder to play against but the stars showing a resiliant streak which leaves them unbeaten
October 14, 2009 at 10:10 pm #13869thirteenMembergood game last night, look what happens when those fycs play with ther heads screwed on! fantastic. some pretty dirty play by some of them though, especially on our goalie, ryhs do you know anything about that?
October 14, 2009 at 10:29 pm #13870Rhys MMemberYup it was a good game to be playing in.
Blake i think your guys goalie was breeching the new code of conduct, he’d obviously had a few brewskies before the game, and whne i challenged him for the puck he was pbviously started and trip over his own feet and fellOctober 14, 2009 at 10:31 pm #13871thirteenMembersee that wouldnt have been a problem if the code wasnt there, but aarons a rebel rouser and just had to break the rules!
October 14, 2009 at 10:39 pm #13872Rhys MMemberI know, admittedly i didnt see the police with a breathalyser on the gate as I also noticed the rather loud devin williams was playing to who we all know is normally quite drunk so luckily for aaron things might be just allowed to slide this one time, just
