This is to let everyone know that if you are interested in trialing for the Dunedin based NZIHL team, trainings start this Tuesday January 22nd at 7pm untill 8:30pm. The cost is $10. This is for junior level players and up. Right now this is for locally based players, but if you are an out of town player and wish to attend, feel free to. The team is currently working on getting weekend ice times so the players who are out of town can attend more easily. For further details, contact Jackie Christos.
January 21, 2008 at 9:51 pm #7780vpatrolMemberAnytime estimated date when trials will happen? March? April?
January 21, 2008 at 11:50 pm #7781battered_and_bruisedMemberWe will find these out I believe tonight. We are having a meeting after practice to go over what the time lines are for when we have to name the team and trials ECT. We will also be discussing how we can best accommodate the out of town players. So once I have all that info, I’ll put it on here.
January 22, 2008 at 3:48 am #7782imported_RyanMemberThanks for the update. I assumed you wouldn’t mind, so I’ve borrowed your forum post almost verbatim for the news post … http://dunedinicehockey.hellyer.kiwi/nzihl-team-trainings/
February 2, 2008 at 8:52 am #7783Hockeyboy19MemberHey do n e of you no if Super Leauge trranning is on this tuesday due to masters curling? I wouldn’t have a clue when masters curling is but since sunday night hockey was put off because of it i thought i would ask.
February 2, 2008 at 12:45 pm #7784battered_and_bruisedMemberI looked in Neil’s magical book or wonder and we are booked in for training this Tuesday. So we are training according to the book.
February 3, 2008 at 1:25 am #7785Hockeyboy19MemberCheers Ryan.

Would I full under this category? I am keen for some extra training.February 3, 2008 at 8:38 am #7787imported_RyanMember"Michael":2my0enbl wrote:Would I full under this category? I am keen for some extra training.
[/quote:2my0enbl]I assume so.
The email I received from Jackie Christos about the practice said that any players from Junior level and up are welcome to attend. It didn’t mention anything about needing to be at a certain level. Although I assume if you are miles off the pace they would suggest you don’t come back, but you wouldn’t be miles off the pace, so I’m guessing you are allowed to attend.
Once the season gets into full swing and other practices are on I imagine they will start restricting it quite heavily though.
Ryan,
February 3, 2008 at 10:42 am #7788battered_and_bruisedMemberThis is officially training for the Dunedin Thunder squad or players serious about making the NZIHL team this year. It would be prefered that players attending are actually serious about training and making this team as opposed to simply using this ice time for extra training.
February 3, 2008 at 10:53 am #7789imported_RyanMemberI guess not then.
That makes sense though. No point in having lots of randoms at practice.
February 3, 2008 at 6:06 pm #7790MichaelMemberWell I am defiantly serious, I just don’t know that I would stand a chance, so should I bother or not?
February 3, 2008 at 8:30 pm #7791battered_and_bruisedMemberIf you are serious then come out. One practice won’t hurt. Once you see where the level is at, make the choice.
February 4, 2008 at 1:16 am #7792MichaelMemberI think I’ll give it a go, I guess the only way I can get better is to play with people better than me, cause other than that I get no real hockey that will help me improve.
February 4, 2008 at 11:01 pm #7793KyleMemberRyan, might be worth taking out that spring dihl news once it’s officially announced, and making thunder the big headline.
