Dunedin SK8 5: Christchurch Rangers 1
The Bull Tahrs vs Womens game was a farce. Don’t know what the score was and don’t think it really mattered.
May 8, 2010 at 8:47 pm #15374keithMemberEaston cup.
Personally I expressed an interest to play in it months ago.
Ask about with NO RESULT.
I have played the three first years including the very first one and enjoyed the competition.
Seems now it is not for casuals to make up a team but the team is already made up with OUT our knowledge so a lot of people including me miss out this…… SUCKS.
WE ALL WANTED TO PLAY , The competition could be really something instead of a secret.
The Easton cup

May 8, 2010 at 11:44 pm #15375imported_RyanMemberI don’t get it.
Callan couldn’t find a team either …. the solution? He made his own team. The women got together and decided they wanted to play, so they entered a team. Tom decided he wanted to play, so he formed a team and entered it. What was stopping the rest of you from doing the same thing?
I don’t really understand what the problem is. If you want to play, form a team. That’s how sports work. You form a team and you enter a competition. Pretty simple really.

I feel like I’m about to die. Legs gone, mind gone and I still have one game, then I’m coaching and then another training session later tonight ” title=”Sad” />

We’ll probably put all the stats on the web page when they’re done, but we try and allow Joyce to have a life so it might be a few days ” title=”Smiley” /> Because sometimes the teams changed around players, the stats might be a little strange in some games.
May 10, 2010 at 10:11 am #15383keithMemberRight on Rhys we could not find out what was happening.
It also used to be held at EASTER but that was changed because everyone was away all the uni students went home But it is all very well saying about just grab a few guys /girls and make a team.
Simple as just jumping out a plane without a parachute
Maybe next time PUT a notice on the notice board and fill your name out under the team you think wants you. aT LEAST we all get a chance to play in the competition.May 10, 2010 at 12:03 pm #15384imported_RyanMember"keith":2s2p6f5q wrote:Right on Rhys we could not find out what was happening.[/quote:2s2p6f5q]What specifically didn’t you know about? It was all posted on the website. I posted the link to the information back when you asked.

Simple as just jumping out a plane without a parachute[/quote:2s2p6f5q]Exactly. Hence the event organisers are presumably quite thankful that so many people stepped forward and took over that job for them this year.

[/quote:2s2p6f5q]That’s kinda pointless if you know which players you want on your team already. I’d only resort to that if I was desperate for players, which presumably none of the teams were since there were so many players who didn’t compete.
May 10, 2010 at 6:11 pm #15385Rhys MMemberHow about instead of the arguing the fact Ryan, perhaps it would be wise take on advice from what several DIFFERENT people have also said and use it to make future and next years events even more sucessfull

[/quote:1f0bvut4]But what has been said that would help? What specifically should be changed?
Putting up a notice asking for players is totally pointless if you already have enough.
Some of you wanted posters put up advertising it, but who would have entered a team that wasn’t already aware of it? You can put as many posters up as you want, but I’d have thought all the people who are organised enough to enter a team would be likely to have seen the existing advertising anyway (I could be wrong though).
May 10, 2010 at 11:51 pm #15387KyleMemberYou mean the two people who were fully aware of the competition but who are complaining about the lack of advertising?
Someone has already offered to me that they will put together a team of random people next year if there is demand.
