That matches the 2004 ruleset that you posted.
I don’t think anyone should expect the rules as set out to change. Erewhon Cup is.. 70 years old this year? It would take substantial effort to change it, and certainly the hosts aren’t going to do that 16 days out from the event.
It’ll technically be centre ice contact, and then in the finals, full contact.
And in reality, I suspect there’ll be almost no contact.
Who’s organising the Old Bastards Graham? I haven’t heard a thing, but if the price is right I’d be keen to play again.
July 4, 2007 at 12:19 am #5418Azzy77ModeratorVince are you registered in the SIHL?
My understaning is only players registered for SIHL clubs are eligible to play in the Erewhon cup,Since all club must be members of SIHL,
and all players must be members of their club
Ipso facto all players must be members of SIHLJuly 4, 2007 at 1:06 am #5419ActiveMemberIm going to find out the numbers this thursday nite practice. As for the cost I dont know yet. I will enter your name into the preliminary mix.
July 4, 2007 at 1:43 am #5420battered_and_bruisedMemberFor the contact it is simple. It’s going to be contact. If you don’t want to play contact, don’t go. Lets stop pissing people off asking the same damn question every 5 minutes.

[/quote:2dj9bpkz]If you read the above posts again you’ll see that I got it wrong the first time. So Graham (leftright) was quite right to ask that question again.
Ryan,
July 4, 2007 at 2:47 am #5422battered_and_bruisedMemberIt’s funny how people are making a mountain out of a mole hill on this topic. This is a fun tournament. Who cares if there is some contact. There will always be contact in hockey regaurdless if you play SNC or prems.

[/quote:1vk8gayd]I have no idea. Since I play for the Stampede, I imagine I am registered with Southern. I had to do a transfer from Canterbury. I would assume I would have to be registered.
July 4, 2007 at 8:19 am #5424Azzy77Moderatoryeah, but thinking bout it more, u would probably have to registered with Dunedin to play with us…..I don’t know anyone else like to have a crack at that rule?
July 4, 2007 at 8:51 am #5425vpatrolMemberrules just say financial members of the SIHL….check. And financial members of their respective clubs and the NZIHF…check and check. Says nothing about having to play for your club in the tourney. It would appear that I’m in the clear. Woohoo!
July 4, 2007 at 8:57 am #5426Azzy77ModeratorI not trying to make you not play, but I would seek clarification on the rule about all players must be members of their club. I think that means you have to be a member of the club you are playing for… not just a member of some random club, not sure reason I was posting was so someone could clarify, cos the executive seem to get real picky about rules in erewhon, like last year when queenstown dressed three different goalies in one tournament or something, they got scolded big time…….
I seem to recall last year we had to register a whole lot of guys so they could play erewhon…
July 4, 2007 at 8:58 am #5427rookie19MemberYea i kinda agree Ryan, this is a traditional tournament from what i know, and there is going to be center ice contact, so theres no point trying to change it to suit other teams. If your team is not up to play contact, then the tournament is probably not suitable for your team, its as simple as that.
July 9, 2007 at 10:34 pm #5428ActiveMemberAt the moment 2 teams have been entered into the Erewhon cup. The Dunedin Premiers and the old bastards. If the Beasts want to enter a team they need to do it now as today its cut off day.
July 9, 2007 at 11:58 pm #5429imported_RyanMemberWhat about the womens team? I heard last night that a bunch of them were intending to field a team.
Ryan,
July 10, 2007 at 12:00 am #5430KyleMemberI heard that over the weekend, and then last night I heard that wasn’t happening. From Mark Hareb, so I don’t know where he got it from.

[/quote:kcwpxq7u]Hey hey hey all I said was that the girls can’t play contact so they can’t field a team. I was just assuming they probably won’t.
Yes it is sad but the beasts won’t be entering as we don’t have enough players that will play center ice contact. I’m going to look at it as a way of saving money instead. When I have time I’ll just organize another comp at some stage I mean how hard could it be.
