MemberAs I have already stated women have a team entered as well as other teams have women in them. They will not be playing contact games as per other years.

That’s not necessarily true (unless the Albury Ice Hockey Club have confirmed otherwise). They could quite easily change the NZIHF rule about women not being able to play contact. That’s what they’ve done in Christchurch hence women play in their contact league up there. There was an email sent around by the SIHL head referee Peter O’Keefe a while back about this issue, the DIHA does similar things with equipment rules.Ryan,

MemberI think the answer is, any team that doesn’t want to play checking, will be fine in the pool play. You might run into problems in the semi finals.
You beasts should see if you can still sign up. Three Dunedin teams would be good – shows the growth in our sport here and puts our case for a NZIHL team forward to the rest of the region.

[/quote:3btgtow9]I did want to play but nobody asked me or confirmed so I sadly have other plans now. I’ll actually be in Dunedin that weekend though. So if anyone needs a goalie or regular player that evening in Dunnerz, I’m ok to play. Can’t imagine there will be much action in town though. I won’t be anywhere near Tekapo though sadly. Sorry.

MemberBummer. Bad on our part. Andre’s looking for another goalie, hopefully we can find one. Old Bastards are looking pretty good otherwise.

MemberI was at Lake Tekapo briefly this week.
Here’s what the view looked like from the top of Mount John.
It should be a great tournament. Here’s a link to a bigger version http://planb.smugmug.com/gallery/2479829#173106139-O-LB%5B/url:8wjicg6q%5D

MemberThanks Ryan
That second one was taken at the Snow-Farm. The valleys were full of freezing fog creating some crazy Hoary Frost. When we stopped at the Rink in Tekapo the glass that they had installed was so frosted over you couldn’t see through it.
Here’s a quick snap

Mt John, just above Lake Tepako, has a beautiful view.

Memberdoes anyone have the schedule for the tournament this weekend?? We are trying to plan how drunk to get before our games (we being ryan wick, blake sinclair, and of course the beautiful and intelligent aaron bryant), and if we have games friday night, we might have to stick to only half a bottle of canadian club for pre-game nutrition, now thats showing self-restraint!!
Also, please text or call Ryan to confirm u are staying with us at the Lake Tekapo Scenic Resort. We have booked 20 beds and need to confirm numbers by tomorrow, so can u please contact Ryan Wick on 0276322422, otherwise we will get fu**ed for some serious coin, and most likely take the dunedin ice hockey club to court to recover these funds and make a bit extra on top. We have the young dudes staying and some of the old b*sd**ds, so we just need to know numbers. Thanks in advance that would be awesome, no really thats really good of u to text or ring Ryan. What a good citizen u are! The lines are busy but Ryan is waiting eagerly for your call, no really he is… weeeellll is he tho?! ok over and out,
CALL NOW!!!!!STIFF

MemberMust be a slow afternoon down at the shop!
My cell phone is currently somewhere between the vodafone shop and the repair place. So I can’t text anyone.
