July 24, 2008 at 5:13 am #9232ActiveMemberHey people
Because of the lack of numbers and people dropping out we are combining the two teams to be called the penguins for Erewhon Cup. That means we will be playing tomorrow night at 8.15pm.July 24, 2008 at 8:07 am #9233Azzy77ModeratorSo whose playing goalie (i don’t feel like going if there is another goalie A i am on heavy pain medication now B don’t want to go for two games)??
How are we getting there?
where are we staying??You mean cos the thunder pulled out we are combining teams?
We had a team didn’t we….July 24, 2008 at 8:40 am #9234ActiveMemberYes we had a team, then one by one they started to drop out. The Penguins were struggling for numbers so the call was made to make 1 team. Bode was going to talk toToby tonight at practice. Have booked the Alex backpackers at 10 skird St 03 4487170 for 5-10 people Friday & Sat night. Me And Rane will not be up there till sat morns game. will bet back re goalie duties

July 27, 2008 at 9:54 pm #9240KyleMemberHow’d the tournament go? I spoke to Bode last night, but she left after their morning game so couldn’t tell me how it finished up.
July 27, 2008 at 11:27 pm #9241ActiveMemberWell after disposing of Alex 7-2 or something like that in the semis we faced the Ice Blacks I mean the Stampede, I mean Queenstown White. There was some supposed spice added because of certain comments said by unmamed individuals in our forum which surprise, surprise the Queenstown players read and there were visions of us lesser lights being plastered over the ice. Anyhow it was very fast paced with rather restrained contact though there were some definite “you shall not pass here” impacts. We were beaten 8-2 with Russo scoring both. Blake got the loudest cheer when he missed the player he had lined up and took out the boards instead. Unfortunately after that incident Blake got carted off in an ambulance with his arm broken or at least severely damaged and he wont be writing anything for a while. It was a great game played in good spirit and it was good to play against the best and I had a ball .
July 28, 2008 at 12:14 am #9242Azzy77ModeratorYeah I concur with Grahame, that the final was fantastic, and played in excellent spirit, and really showed what hockey in NZ is about having a ball whilst playing good hockey. And lets hope erewhon continues for many years to come. Even if a certain team of a specific gender didn’t fully partake in all the social activities shame on them
Hats off to the queenstown boys (i know you read this) they played an excellant game and really deserved the win….
There were some funny moments, like when Argyle out deked himself, followed quickly by grahame running a good decoy with the puck between his feet no one not even himself knew what was going on, for richie to score his second goal….P.S. If the queenstown boys disagree with anything said on this forum, realize it is just peoples opinions and you are more than welcome to join, and completely rip to shreds our arguements. In fact we would like it if you did this forum gets a bit stale with everyone agreeing with each other all the time
July 28, 2008 at 1:02 am #9243ActiveMemberI have to disagree with you there as I knew perfectly well what I was doing….. I was trying to kick the puck through to catch up to my stick at speed as I was very keen to get that goal. unfortunatly I was skating faster than the puck was going to catch up to my stick so I had to leave it behind for Russo to grab the glory even though it did deflect off my stick (it was going in anyway). I got neither the goal nor an assist and my own moment of glory passed. But I did know what I was doing. I was f…king up my one and only good scoring chance.
It was Burt that bamboozled himself not Argyle.July 28, 2008 at 1:05 am #9244KyleMember"Active":1mzmikez wrote:I have to disagree with you there as I knew perfectly well what I was doing….. I was trying to kick the puck through to catch up to my stick at speed as I was very keen to get that goal.
[/quote:1mzmikez]If only your feet knew what you were doing, it obviously would have been your crowning glory Graham.

[/quote:2qz6rvy2]Um graheme, I was the goalie I looked up and saw Argyle coming at me with a head, of steam, he went left he went right, he went left again(all this from my perspective) unfortunately for him, but fortunately for me the puck didn’t come with him and trickled softly into my glove.
