[b:30jdp2xi]Peewee Tournament[/b:30jdp2xi]
The Dunedin Peewees are playing for the Southern Ice Hockey League on Sunday June 17 here in Dunedin. The Dunedin peewees have gone from losing every game three seasons ago, to last season managing to beat the mighty Queenstown Rangers team once, placing them in second overall. This year they have a chance to win the championship! It would be great to get a whole load of supporters along to support our team, so bring yourself, your friends, your family and anyone else you can drag along to cheer on our mighty Peewee team ” title=”Smiley” /> The Dunedin Juniors will also be playing that day too and a Dunedin Midgets vs SIHL Peewees training game is on Saturday night at 6:30pm.

June 16, 2007 at 12:04 pm #5059KyleMemberI saw a bunch of these kids play tonight. There’s some really good kids from elsewhere in the region – one went from his own blue line, showed up a bunch of midgets for stick handling _and_ pace, and then scored. There were also a bunch that were really committed on defence – chasing and diving after breakaways, going down and blocking shots. The house league game which included some out-of-towners was really close, 5-4 with a late go ahead goal with ten seconds left from a player who’d just come out of the box ten seconds earlier.
It’d be well worth turning up at 11:30 tomorrow morning and watching Dunedin-Queenstown, should be a great game. And the Dunedin Juniors are playing at 10 so get down there earlier and catch the double header. Juniors are pretty physical so if they stay on the legal side of things, should be good games.
