that would answer it
April 13, 2010 at 1:11 pm #15113KyleMemberRomania pound Israel 20-0. NZ’s next two games are going to be real hard.
April 13, 2010 at 9:55 pm #15114ActiveMember17 – 0 to Estonia. ouch!
April 13, 2010 at 11:54 pm #15115KyleMemberA bunch of the Estonian team are full time professionals. They were unlucky not to win promotion (narrow lost to Serbia) last year. 3-0 in the first period is a good result, looking at the scoresheet they had periods where they let in 3 goals in a minute or so a couple of times, so they probably let is slip a bit and the Estonians racked it up.
April 14, 2010 at 1:15 am #15116vpatrolMemberAn opportunity to play a team that good is awesome as long as you can look past the score. Keeping them close in the 1st was great.
April 16, 2010 at 10:11 am #15117GasmanMember1-up on China. May the goals flow for us.
April 16, 2010 at 12:11 pm #15118vpatrolMember2 to 1 win for IB’s. Awesome job!
April 16, 2010 at 6:36 pm #15119KyleMemberSweet. NZ killed a 5 minute major on Hay, Spiers with the game winning goal on the power play. Nothling makes 34/35 saves. 4th is a great result.
Estonia looks like winning promotion, currently 5 goals up on Romania.

http://stats.iihf.com/Hydra/227/IHM2270 … NG_1_0.pdfI can’t believe they got 4th. That’s totally crazy, I assumed they’d get thumped again … shows what I know ” title=”Tongue” />
April 17, 2010 at 12:36 am #15121KyleMemberIt’s the result of a number of things, but probably primarily the setting up of the national league. Raises the level of domestic play, which pushes the international play higher. Hopefully they should be able to hold themselves in that division.
April 17, 2010 at 1:15 am #15122thirteenMemberThats awesome! wicked that we dont have to spend next years worlds messing round just to get back to div 2. We can now claim that we are in Div 2. This is excellent news for new zealand ice hockey.
April 17, 2010 at 1:46 am #15123GasmanMemberWell done guys. Well earned one goal games hard to watch but a win is a win.
So for our Ice Blacks to improve in DivII do they need more international games besides the Champs each yr, or could they play the Some of the OZ regional teams. Asian teams or even the OZ National team each yr?
April 17, 2010 at 2:14 am #15124plod16MemberIt would appear that Aus will be fighting it out possibly for 2 or 3 in their champs in Mex.
It would be great to see a 5 game series in the Sept/Oct/Nov window. Each country host alternative years. Not that hard since we beat them last year! Sure they would be keen to rectify that.
Their hierarchy is allegedly keen for more contact but will believe that when I see it!!!
April 17, 2010 at 3:27 am #15125GasmanMemberYes Aus vs Bel tomorrow will be great in that alot will be riding on it.
I would like to think the powers that be might be able to find a window and come up with a plan to try and make an NZL vs AUS game or series possable. I guess it will always be diffficult in that we would be asking Amuteurs to give up more of there precious time ontop of existing World Camps. towards there sport.
How about a series a week or two before world champs kick off to get boys battle hardened?
April 17, 2010 at 10:44 am #15126KyleMemberThe NZ winter games – every second year should grow from two teams to a full tournament – pacific rim countries.
