MemberIce Blacks have clearly been eating their weet bix. If someone had suggested that the Ice Blacks could be in with a chance for a medal in Div II two years ago I would have laughed at them. Shows what I know.
Do the second placed team get promoted to Div I? Or is that just the first placed team?

Memberoz up 3-1 on serb. if it finishes like that then NZ and Serb both on +11 goal dif.
I think from Kyle’s stuff before Serb would get the silver as they won against NZ.
So GO Ozi,
I can’t believe i just wrote that

ModeratorThose points difference that you mention gasman includes the goals from mexico and Australia, which don’t count in the three way time break assuming Australia win.
So Serbia would be on -2 as it stands, and since we are on +3 then NZ wins silver

MemberOur +3 comes from where?

ModeratorNZL – Serbia 4-6 = -2
NZL – Belgium 5-0 = +3April 10, 2011 at 10:39 am #16825Kyle
Memberthe first tie breaker is decided between points, and then for/against from games between the tie-broke teams – so only three games count between serbia, belgium, and nz.

MemberThe web cast must be delayed a bit. he was announcing australia’s 4th goal and it was already up on the iihf web site – take at least 30 seconds for the referee to give that to the scorebox and for them to get it in the computer.

MemberAmazing result for the Ice Blacks. Really amazing to be here for it and share in this piece of NZ ice hockey history.
I hope everyone will enjoy the documentary when it is finished in around 8 weeks and you can all see for yourselves just how well our boys played.

MemberHells yea! Thats unreal! where does that place us in the world now then? And how did Zac get goalie of the tournament after letting in 6 and 2? was it all his flailing around in the net that makes it look like he is trying?
April 10, 2011 at 10:19 pm #16831Azzy77
ModeratorBlake Zak let in 6 and 2. But saved like a million.
That tends to help you get Goalie of the tournament.

Member8 goals off 98 shots is pretty good for 2 games. 3 of those came in their first period when the team wasn’t firing.
Both goalies clearly did very well. I’d imagine picking the goalie to play vs AUS would have been hard, but it probably wouldn’t matter, if the team doesn’t score a goal, no goalie is going to win it for you.
