Well Stefan txtd me last night and he told me HE DID GET 6 shifts and a shot on goal but in the end they lost in a very heated game 10-5 to the Red Devils. He told me that there were a few fights and the refs were very biased towards Canterbury. They were playing the Red Devils again this morning at 10:15 but I don’t know the score of that one.
June 10, 2007 at 2:29 am #5047vpatrolMember2nd game ended with a 6-2 score favoring the Stampede. Much better game. We dictated more. Refs still binned us a lot but the penalties were closer this time. Sat night saw us end with 74 mins worth. Better effort today all around. Now I just have to learn how to stop a puck on a penalty kill and I’ll be sweet.

June 10, 2007 at 3:31 am #5049Azzy77ModeratorWhats with the quite up down scores??
I mean presumably if they were evenly matched we would get scores like 3-2, 1-2 etc…
I mean 10-5 to 6-2 are quite big swings..
9-1 to 4-3 is still quite a big swing even though the second game scoreline ended a lot closer??
June 10, 2007 at 4:39 am #5050vpatrolMemberWhen we get away from our game, then we get destroyed. We can’t play Canterbury short-handed the whole game. They are too good for that. However, when we play 5 on 5, we are the better team. We got our heads into it for the second game of both weekends.
June 10, 2007 at 7:32 am #5051KyleMemberHey that’s good. Nice to see that Stefan got some game time, hope it continues.
June 10, 2007 at 9:44 am #5052vpatrolMemberalthough he did get some time yesterday too, the promotion to the top line was partially due to Braden being suspended. Stefan did well though. Had a few shots on net. Had a real nice tip that Gareth just got a piece of.
June 10, 2007 at 11:06 am #5053rookie19MemberYea was good to get some time, played tons in the second game, but was a bit nervous, would have liked that deflection to go in, but o well im sure more chances will come. Daves been a real positive coach to me on the bench even though im still a bit nervous out there, hes giving good constructive advice which is cool. Glassey and Speirs are good dudes too, so it was cool to play with them.
Yea the first game was horrible, seriously we were basically on the penalty kill for half the game. There were some really poor calls, but we didnt help things by taking some silly penalties. Vince it was hard playing shorthanded for sure, and i know u didnt see a lot of those shots through traffic, when we are 5 on 3. Vince, do u know what the total penalties were for the first game? some crazy figure.
Was a good weekend tho, we just have to learn how to win game 1 from now on!
Peace all,
STIFFJune 10, 2007 at 11:45 am #5054vpatrolMemberwe had 74 minutes of penalties in the first game. 30 mins in the first period. It took all of one minute for us to take 2 penalties and play 5 on 3. lol.
