    Just some idle chatter
You may notice that most canadians play left handed.
Why? is it because thats the side of the road they drive on.
    No!
Its because like us kiwis they mostly write with their right hands and yes folks your writing hand should be the top hand on your stick.
That means the majority of us should be playing left handed.
There are several major benefits for doing this and a lot less disadvantages. Now I know that its hard to teach an old dog new tricks (i.e the many of us who play right handed to change over) but we really should be teaching the young kids and newbies to play on the correct side instead of reverting to our cricket mentality of being right handed. this simple rule will increase skill levels in kids at a much quicker rate.

The other thing is to give kids a straight stick the first time they play, and see which way they hold it – isn’t there a rule about putting it down on the ice, tell them to pick it up, and the way they pick it up shows which side they should play?

I can’t imagine I’d be as brave as you Graham and try switching. There’s enough shortcomings in my game without creating more <img decoding=” title=”Smiley” />

And, Canadians drive on the right side of the road, the steering wheel is on the left side.

That would explain all those oncoming weaving cars
