What is happening with Masters team?
We need to register by Fri to get the cheap rates.
KeithNovember 2, 2009 at 6:16 am #14800vpatrolMemberwhy on earth is this a poll?

November 2, 2009 at 7:22 pm #14801ActiveMemberI think there is one team entered but with another one expected to play as well. I dont know anything about early bird rates but Steve jackson is organising it, Is ChCh playing Vince or are you going to come down and play for us.
I vote registerNovember 2, 2009 at 10:04 pm #14802imported_RyanMemberI’d like to see Dunedin stack one of their teams this time around. Dunedin has some pretty decent elderly players and I think they could give the Aussie teams a run for their money if the teams aren’t split evenly on playing level.
If the event is postponed by five years I will play also. Otherwise I’m too young unfortunately ” title=”Sad” /> Sounds like awesome fun though!
November 3, 2009 at 1:05 am #14803ActiveMemberLast time we lost 1 nil in the final to the winners of the tournament, a Brisbane team with lots of Canadians. Come to think of it our team consisted of lots of Canadians & 3 indigenous natives.

[/quote:2armb7mc]I’ve heard nothing about this although the old folk in chch don’t talk to me much since I pretend to be young and hang out with the pimply kids.
I’m not sure I qualify for masters yet. Over 35 isn’t it? Could be persuaded to play to stick it to the aussies.

[/quote:3ds2odi4]Check with Clive Murphie, he usually seems to know what’s going on with the masters scene in Christchurch.
November 3, 2009 at 3:05 am #14806vpatrolMemberOur rink is shut down so haven’t seen anyone recently.
November 3, 2009 at 3:11 am #14807KyleMemberSteve Jackson is organising local teams so anyone interested should talk to him.
November 3, 2009 at 8:48 pm #14808thirteenMemberAhaha! i like how ryan referred to our masters players as elderly! hahaha! thats made my day! how it must suck to be old!
November 3, 2009 at 10:11 pm #14809vpatrolMemberyet you just choose to look old with that birds nest growing from your face most days!
January 13, 2010 at 5:37 am #14810keithMemberHay cut out the crap I am 62 thats not old.
It is the young guys these days that are wusses
The teams should be random as the masters is about fun not the olympic games.
I have been at the rink each day for figure skating practice for the masters and this is also fun.
Masters is not a kill or be killed thing it is getting drunk dancing meeting beautiful blonds from where ever.
They don’t check your birth certificate so if you grey your hair with axel grease you with make the team.
KeithJanuary 13, 2010 at 5:44 am #14811keithMemberIf you register then there is a huge party at the university campus with heeps of good bands and heeps of women from netball, dance, skating, polo water sports etc. heeps of food drinks and make new friends that is what the masters is about.

I hope I can play hockey when I’m 62. I also hope to be playing at 92, but that might be a bit of a stretch :p

I cant remember the last time I got drunk then met a beautifull blond. In fact I dont think I ever met someone beautifull when drunk as they tend to steer clear of me. Maybe Ive just got the wrong attitude when im pissed or maybe I slobber the wrong way. Any way because ive never met beautifull women when drunk I think id rather stick to being in a strong team and trying to win and and get my jollies that way. If I lose maybe ill get pissed and meet someone whos beautifull on the inside.
So in conclusion I would rather play in a stacked team and my second choice would be to play for an evened out team then it would be for the unstacked team. Either way I will have fun. -
