[/quote:vph3cqcu]The outcome wont affect the results tho I assume ? Auckland has had a loss and a draw, and sthn won all games – so a loss against Akl still keeps you in gold posn ?

September 14, 2009 at 1:07 am #14227thirteenMemberShit hes not having much luck there, he got it hurt in a warm up the day of the ice black test. knee isnt something you really want to hurt as that sort of thing can stop you playing. Is is all good now?
September 14, 2009 at 1:20 am #14228KyleMemberI believe long term it might need surgery, though no doubt at some stage he’ll pop on and give us some details. He’s a great player so hopefully he gets a full ice hockey career.
Full results from the weekend:
Peewees: Auckland 1st, Canterbury 2nd, Southern 3rd (on goal difference, Auckland cleaned up this age group).
Midgets: Canterbury 1st, Auckland 2nd, Southern 3rd.
Juniors: Southern 1st, Auckland 2nd, Canterbury 3rd.Site doesn’t have individual player etc awards up yet.
September 14, 2009 at 1:54 am #14229Azzy77ModeratorWhat happened at Pee Wees and Midgets, I thought Southern was reasonably strong in this region?
September 14, 2009 at 2:04 am #14230KyleMemberSouthern peewees were very strong last year, they got silver. Five very strong skaters moved up. This year they split their games against Canterbury but missed out on silver by goal difference. Auckland must have been very impressive, they’re doing good things up there at that level.
I suspect Southern will again be very strong in one or two years in U16s as that same bubble gets to the older end of the group. At least two of them have made NZ U16s despite only turning 13 this year.
Midgets face the same problem. Bunch of very strong kids who won gold the last two years moved up to Juniors (hence they helped winning there). We should have great U19 teams for the next two years or so.

That doesn’t bode well for NZ under 18’s. Hope its a speedy recovery!
