Aww, we can’t rate or add comments to the video.

Yea man id be keen to do that, but let me know what you want and il try do it, eg. what type of clips, how often etc, and what format you want them in. The clips I have on my computer are much better quality, so if there was a way I could post these on the Dunedin Ice Hockey site directly, this would be much better, but ud hav to show me how to do that im not too familiar with how to do such things!!
Yea the commentators are so passionate for the NHL, I think taking the calls out of the highlights takes all the emotion out of the goals, which kind of kills it i recon, so we’ll keep them in there!
Il do another one for goalie saves and fights (if wanted) and let me know what you think eh.

I was meaning we need a video editor for the videos of Dunedin games.

I’m assuming the footage/music you’ve posted is copyrighted so I’m not too keen on posting it directly to our own site. I don’t mind linking to them though as that’s slightly less dodgy, still illegal probably, but much less so and noones ever going to haul us up on it.

If you want to upload some better quality videos to the web then I suggest using [url:2w92b8tg]http://www.freehostia.com[/url:2w92b8tg] which offers 250 MB of disk space and plenty of bandwidth for hosting whatever you want. You need to sign up for it and a day later you’ll be able to connect using an FTP program like [url:2w92b8tg]http://www.smartftp.com/[/url:2w92b8tg]. I’ll PM you an old account I had with them which you’re welcome to use.

Actually, on second thought, I’ll also see if I can rustle up an online upload program to add to the site, that way you won’t need to shag round using an FTP program.

Yea man 4sure get me the clips and i could do that.
Id also be keen to do highlights around playoff time so that everyone could check out the latest action so I could put some stuff together for the site, as often the highlights are shit and not exactly straight to the point for us here in N.Z.
Would someone be that uptight about us using highlights to help promote ice hockey in this country??

Maybe not the video footage as it’s promoting the NHL in the process, but you’re copying music as well. The most that would likely happen is that we’d get told off by our hosting providers or get a nasty email from someone threatening legal action. I’ve spoken to some other website admins who say that it’s quite common to receive threats of legal action if certain material isn’t removed immediately, although that’s as far as it ever goes unless someone refuses to remove that copyrighted material. So I could post them, but there’s a chance that we’d need to remove them. Actually, this isn’t sounding so bad now that I think about it more. What does everyone else reckon?

I’ve made the uploading program now, it’s at:
[url:1palkknl]http://bobhar3.freehostia.com/[/url:1palkknl] – Bob isn’t a real person, that’s just the name I gave to freehostia.com, Bob lives in Beverly Hills, California. Look him up if you’re in the area some time

If anyone has a use for the uploader then just PM me and I’ll send you the password.

Anyway, if u want highlights the best site in my opinion would easily be CIF-Forums (http://www.cif-forums.com/vb). I have been to almost every site with videos and nothing comes close, there are weekly highlights posted, about 5-10mins long each, and it will most definately keep u up to date with action round the league, and even some elite leagues like SM-Liiga etc.[/quote:tyr1slxj]

OK, Stefan signed me up for this and it looks pretty good. There’s downloads of entire games on torrent (looks like about 1GB a game, so guess you have to have really good data caps, but still), highlights, links to youtube.

I can recommend another person after signing up, so if anyone else wants in, let me know.

me me me me me !!!

I tried p2p downloading hockey games a while back and couldn’t find anything more than crappy highlights you can get elsewhere easier. Whole games would be awesome

1 GB per game isn’t that much either. How much data transfer do you have Kyle? I’ve got a 25 GB cap which I’m unlikely to ever reach, so can download a bunch of games for you if you’d like.

No need to use [url:1qc4dwkt]http://bobhar3.freehostia.com/[/url:1qc4dwkt] anymore.
I’ve made a far better uploader here:

[url:1qc4dwkt]http://www.rookie19.gowoosh.com[/url:1qc4dwkt]

It currently has a data cap of 5 GB with 10 GB/month transfer, although I can increase that up to a data cap of 1000 GB with 100 GB/month transfer if I want – however I’d be impressed if anyone on here could use that much up! The size of each file can be up to 200 MB.

If anyone else has a use for one of these then just let me know and I’ll set one up for you.

Cool! I’ve now downloaded a whole game of the Flames vs Kings.
Good quality and a smooth and fast download

Perhaps we should form a Dunedin based NHL hockey video piracy ring

And someone else has made an even better one, try this instead, it’s probably more reliable than mine anyway:

You can watch games live at yahoo and I believe tsn.ca is broadcasting the WJC live (or at least Canada’s games As far as yahoo is concerned, you will have to change your IP address as only North Americans can view NHL online through yahoo. It shouldn’t be too difficult, I remember guys on the canaucks.com forum telling how to view games through yahoo for internationals.

There is also a program called TVU Player that would broadcast live games but has come under legal issues from the NHL so you may have to wait for that to cool down. I also heard that google might be broadcasting live NHL games but haven’t followed that up, although, in NZ, you would probably have to change your IP like for yahoo.

Hey dudes, hope all is well and you had a mad new years!!

Anyway, there is a lady in New Zealand that gets her friends in the US to tape her NHL games, and send the best ones over to her. She just sold 4 tapes (total 8 FULL games) on trademe which I purchased for $2 a tape!
If you guys want them, let me know and once I have watched them all (which will only take a couple of days), I will send them to you, if you give me ur address etc.

Although I have not seen them yet, there are some good matchups including some Buffalo games (they will win the Stanley Cup this year), so will be good watching eh!

Peace,

There’s a bunch of tools for this, a quick Google search churned up these handy bits of info:

[url:5eu99ggh]http://www.maskmyip.com/[/url:5eu99ggh] program
[url:5eu99ggh]http://www.experts-exchange.com/Applications/Q_21041194.html[/url:5eu99ggh] opinion
[url:5eu99ggh]http://www.netconceal.com/[/url:5eu99ggh] program

EDIT: I can’t seem to find a free downloadable program for this (haven’t looked very hard either), both of the programs above are commercial products. If anyone finds a suitable free program please post here

And Slap Shot 2 is on TV tonight, tV3, 10:55.

I presume this is the original slap shot II movie, which are pretty B grade, but which are _kinda_ about ice hockey. And fighting. More on the fighting really. Entertaining to watch.

They redid the first one recently, and it didn’t have the same B grade quality feel, and was just bad.

I found that Google will show NHL games as well, although not live like yahoo.

Here is a link to Vancouver Canucks games on Google: [url:8cbhm5s9]http://video.google.com/videosearch?q=team%3Acanucks[/url:8cbhm5s9]

I doubt that you will have to change the IP address to watch these games. You should also be able to find other teams as well, I haven’t checked but it’s more than likely.

Hope this works,

Enjoy!
