Since Joe isn’t with us any longer to dazzle us with his photography, I’ll gingerly take his spot with some ranting about my snaps from yesterday. Feel free to do the same if you have any photos from local hockey games. We haven’t had many (any?) photos since Joe Sales’ left, so would be nice to have some from the other grades the DIHA competes in.
These are from the Dunedin Penguins vs Dunedin Beasts game yesterday in Alexandra, you can see the whole gallery of photos here … http://dunedinicehockey.hellyer.kiwi/gallery/s … -snc-2008/

… shooting …
… off the post …
… in the net …
A pity he didn't use the force like he did with this shot

But the Beasts fought back and Aaron eventually had to do some skating …
And for the ladies out there. Here is the man behind the mask …

Here's the goal scoring shot
Callumn was quite rightly looking very pleased with himself afterwards.

DIHL organiser Larry Nichvolodov was on fire
Jack Li ripped some decent shots. A pity he landed on his ass after this one ” title=”Tongue” />
Mark Bingham firing off a shot
Zanzee, the puck is still there!

Violence aplenty …Since it was only Chris, the referee ignored it.
So Rob decided to get the Penguins back by groping Kyle's arm whilst the officials weren't looking.
But Kyle got away
So Chris caught him in the corner.
And Callan finished him off later on.

You don’t happen to have any of me reffing do you?

[/quote:1lmqr8jm]If you were refereeing during the first Southern Womens game, then I may do. But Rob has those photos on his CF card, so I’ll need to wait till I get them from him to know. I got sick of taking photos later on, so I didn’t do any after the Beasts vs Penguins game. I certainly wasn’t aiming the camera at referees intentionally, they’re not that interesting, so it would require you being in a photo by accident.
June 22, 2008 at 4:57 am #9144JackMemberDamn I look hot in that photo rofl
” title=”Tongue” />
pity the shot didn’t make it in….
June 22, 2008 at 8:23 am #9145rookie19MemberHahaha nice! Its like an epic story of epic proportions!!! Smooth commentary Ryan!! ROFL LOL LMAO…

The stats usually come out within a few weeks, but Alexandra generally sucks at getting the information to Joyce for processing, so I wouldn’t hold your breathe waiting. Anyone else know the scores?

The trials for SNC grade were held yesterday BTW. No one seemed to know about it though, so I’m guessing it wont matter that you didn’t turn up.
June 22, 2008 at 11:25 am #9148rookie19MemberYea Larry rung me up and at that stage I was good to go to Alex, but had to work in the end which was gutting, so yeerrrr…
Hopefully I can still skate – its been a while!!!
Nationals r gonna be sick though, who made the team?!
June 22, 2008 at 11:38 am #9149Azzy77ModeratorSomeone may want to bump this last part of discussion to forum…
But we beat the beasts 7-2 I think… and lost to alex 6-4 which was kinda gutting because we clawed out way back to be 4-3 and they scored a goal with a high stick, but it wasn’t called no sweat eh….Apparently there are dunedin trials as well, and larry will also use your stats as a guide about whether you make the team or not…
June 22, 2008 at 9:20 pm #9150KyleMemberLarry has copies of our stats. The second game was pretty wobbly statwise. I got an assist for Matt Newton’s goal, but Mark didn’t get an assist for his shot which rebounded off the goalie and which Zanzee put in however.
Beasts beat Southern Women… er 8 – 3 or so? And Southern women lost to Gore by a moderate amount.
Zanzee and Mallory both played four straight games, I think those two women are machines or something.
