Devils verse Stampede at Tekapo tomorrow, any predictions??
Its good to see the alternative rinks being used for pre-season games. Maybe next year there could be a whole round of preseason games at those rinks.
May 23, 2010 at 4:56 am #15222vpatrolMemberearly reports are a 4-2 win for Devils. Eaden and Mitchell didn’t play and Justin may not have played much or at all either.
May 23, 2010 at 7:19 am #15223plod16MemberCRD won 4-2 in an even battle that could’ve gone STP’s way if they had capitalised on the opportunitys. Some frantic goal line activity by the Devils prevented a couple of certain goals from being scored.
Shots were apparently reasonably even and a low penalty count.
May 24, 2010 at 12:16 am #15224imported_RyanMemberSounds like the southern teams are nice and evenly matched this year then.
May 24, 2010 at 1:40 am #15225plod16MemberBet they could add all the sports cliches to the results tho!!!
With some organising there could be a pre-season tournament somewhere with the three teams, possibly on a rotating basis between the rinks.
May 24, 2010 at 2:28 am #15226thirteenMemberI dont know about the other teams but we would be fairtly hard pressed to find time in our schedules for more then that one pre season game, clearly the stampede had ample time. Good idea though. how was the ice and crowd at tekapo?
May 24, 2010 at 4:04 am #15227vpatrolMemberyeah not sure how keen teams would be to have a tourney beforehand. IB’s are just getting back from worlds, imports are arriving, chch has exhibition cup. There isn’t a lot of time to get ready for the season so committing to a tourney might not hold value to the individual teams. Nice for fans who are hockey starved after the summer. The current pre-season games seem to fill that void already.
May 24, 2010 at 4:36 am #15228plod16MemberIt didn’t look the ice was too bad but have seen worse. Crowd was between 50-75.
Good to see that the IBs are only travelling to Melbourne next year for Div 2.

There is actually, drink, drink bourbon, listen to death metal, throw bottles at oncoming cars, start fights at the local pub, abuse passers by outta your car, lap the main street all day, I mean and thats only some of the options…….
I guess tekapos a tad more remote and a smaller population than gore youd have to take into account to
May 24, 2010 at 11:23 am #15231imported_RyanMemberTrue. I forgot about those exciting things. It almost makes me miss Howl at the Moon.
You forgot to add riding the sheep by the roundabout and attempting to negotiate the roundabout sideways.

I think at this time of year, Gore has about 10 times the population. There’s probably well less than a thousand in Tekapo at the moment.

i can think of a few senceless people that live in dunedin that do these very things most weekendsMay 25, 2010 at 1:46 am #15234thirteenMemberAnd having lived in both these places i would go so far as to say that the situation in Dunedin is far more dire than in gore.
