    Match penalty.

Harder to get out of the way in the top leagues – play is much faster, and it’s more difficult for players to avoid you when the other team is checking them. And none of us can skate as fast backwards as national league players can skate forwards.

I realise that and so should the players, that is why it is absolutley appalling that this happened. The ref said he saw it happend and was going to talk to the player in question, if i was reffing it would have been a straight MP and suspension. Same with Paul Scott i would have said. Only bad calls of the weekend really

BY hitting i mean cross checking in the kidneys. The linesman got in the way, the Admirals player swore at him then cross checked him in the kidneys. This player did this twice

Oh. Well then yeah, that sounds like a serious penalty is deserved.

Stampede beat Red Devils twice over the weekend: 5-3 and 5-2.

Swarm beat Admirals 5-3 this evening.

Assuming that Stampede and Red Devils both beat Admirals, Red Devils still have the bye, so it will come down to how Stampede go against Thunder to see who makes the final – Stampede need 4 points out of a potential 6 I think.

stampede need all 6 points to be tied with Devils.  They would go ahead on a tie breaker.  If thunder get one point and all teams beat admirals, devils go through.

Stampede beat Admirals 6-1. Swarm beat Thunder 6-5. Guaranteed final in Auckland, just waiting now to see if it’s Devils or Stampede playing them.

In the Junior Elites, Southern beat Canterbury 12-2 in Christchurch yesterday. 116 penalty minutes – couple of kids kicked out of the game.

Southern U16s won today’s game 9-6 after being down 6-5 end of the 2nd. Pretty good game apparently.
