    There is also the trip to the Airport Vpatrol, and in Auckland that takes roughly 5 hours give or take.

    true but a trip to the dairy is 3-4 hours so they are used to it by now.

    Thunder wins 6-1 (1-0, 4-1, 1-0) in their opener in Auckland against the admirals.

    JP Bertrand with 2, Remy, Damo, Parisy and Weirsy picking up 1 each.

    Good start boys….

    Well done on the win. I heard it was a scrappy game. Was told Darcy got knocked out!!!
    Was it a clean hit check or a swinging fist?

    Well any team that has 72mins in the box really has a mountain to climb. Was it frustraion on the admirals part giving away cheep penalties or did they run up the white flag eary in the second period and then just go out for maximum dammage mode to try and soften the thunder for the return game today?

    With the penatly box getting that much action last night I am keen to see what happens today.

    I believe 4-3 is the official total since it was 3-3 after regulation.  Good hard fought game though.  Bit of rust on both sides but very close.

    So only 3 powerplay goals according to my sources but I haven’t seen a scoresheet.

    I hear the hit that knocked Darcy out, was ruled to be Boarding, but whether it was malicious or not is a different matter, my sources suggest his head was down, so made the hit worse…

    Yeah I’m not sure why that came down to me, I presumed that was the shootout score. But yeah, 3-3 end of regulation means 4-3 final score.

    Was an ass whooping in chch.  No other way to say it.  The Swarm looked good scoring equal strength, powerplay and short handed goals.  They put on a clinic.  I will no longer chirp Zak Nothling about his 5-hole prior to games or any opposition goalie for that matter.
