Sadly interviewed by two people who didn’t know anything about ice hockey, nor did they seem to be very well briefed about the interview. Ian Smith covered OK.

Memberyeah it wasn’t particularly stellar. Maybe they should get Nathan a mobile phone next time he’s on vacation.

OH got em there!!! what a call! id love to see challis wear a visor, turns out hes too scared..July 10, 2010 at 1:02 am #15916plod16
MemberThink he has only just turned 18 but has to wear the cage all season!
There is a National rule somewhere which states that any player who turns 18 during that year should keep wearing it as causes too much confusion at games/tournaments.
Everyone has seen players who turn 18, come out with a visor and then have facial injury.

Member7-4 win for the Stampede.
Stampede led 4-3 at the end of the 2nd which wasn’t really the end of the 2nd. With blood on the ice, the refs made the unorthodox decision to play the remaining 21.7 seconds after the groom instead of cleaning the blood and playing out the period. Devils tied it at 4 in the 3rd but Stampede pulled ahead and shut down the house to take the win. It looked like the Stampede of old. Speirs was his old sniper self.

MemberSpeirs clipped D’Onofrio in the nose. Opened up the bridge of his nose. Renato has some decent photo’s of it.

MemberCopied from the IIHF rule book, page 40ish.
“If any unusual delay occurs within five minutes of the end of the first and
second period, the Referee may order the next regular intermission to be taken
immediately. When play resumes, the remaining time shall be played with the
teams defending the same goal as before the intermission, after which time
the teams change ends and resume playing the ensuing period without delay.”July 11, 2010 at 8:00 am #15927vpatrol
MemberBlood on the ice is not an unusual delay.
