good rebound win for Thunder. Good on them.
July 31, 2010 at 11:45 am #16089vpatrolMemberAdmirals won in OT as well. 5-4. Balanced results. ” title=”Wink” />
July 31, 2010 at 10:13 pm #16090GasmanMemberWhat a fantastic game to watch, nothing better than OT to get the heart racing.
So very nice worked goals for the thunder in front of the net with a couple scored by fantastic high speed deflections. Pretty sure Lenstra set a tracer from out at the blue line mid right of net, it had to happen.
the last penalty on the goalie for displacing the goal frame which he did in front of the ref, might of been called wrong in the game, the swarm were short handed instead of esterbrook facing another PS.
554b) – DISPLACING THE GOAL FRAME
b) If it happens during the last two minutes of the game, or at any time in overtime,
by a defending player or goalkeeper in his Defending Zone the Referee shall
award to the non-offending team a:
➤ Penalty Shot (PS)Expect Notling will have the pipes again this afternoon.

August 1, 2010 at 3:36 am #16092nziceMemberany updates from Dunedin ?
August 1, 2010 at 4:53 am #16093GasmanMemberFinal score 4-1 Swarm. lost for words here.
Penality count looked like it favoured the Swarm. but not sure of the numbers
August 1, 2010 at 7:43 am #16094vpatrolMemberI heard it was more lopsided than the score suggests. A huge imbalance of shots apparently. Hopefully someone has details.
August 1, 2010 at 9:03 am #16095vpatrolMemberAdmirals won 4-3 to take over 2nd spot. Red Devils have 2 games at hand.
Swarm are a confirmed finalist. They are playing for a home final with the Devils and Admirals next match being the biggest two games of the year.
August 1, 2010 at 11:21 am #16096KyleMemberThunder were distinctly average today and never really looked in the game. Big let down from the heart they showed the night before.
August 2, 2010 at 3:18 am #16097aston head of statisticsMemberthe games up north had similar problems the first game the reffing was the worst i have ever seen and im not normally one to winge about that but the whole game was so bad we managed to stay in it the whole game then in the shoot out the mighty flying fro aka Gareth got an amazing goal for it to be dis aloud because he “touched it twice ” or had another go at it its a deak the reff and lines man on the goal line both said it was a goal then for the other LINES MAN to come up and say no goal.
the second game was reffed alot better and was 3 all until the last 1 30 mins of the game when a very unlucky dump hit the skate of a stampede d man and bounced strait on to an un marked admiral in the slot it was farkin gaynesss…..August 2, 2010 at 5:56 am #16098vpatrolMemberI like the 10 minute overtime. It’s fun when rules are made up as you go along. It’s like when you are 5 years old.
August 2, 2010 at 6:01 am #16099Azzy77ModeratorI don’t even know where that got that from, apparently there was a piece of paper in the scorebox saying that overtime was 10 minutes……
I think next season I will leave some other papers in the scorebox
Any Penalty conceded by a team that is not the Thunder will result in an automatic goal being added to the Thunders score.
Any time a Goalie in Green stops the puck the scorekeeper shall record 10 saves to said goalie.
At the end of the game if the Thunder have less goals than the other team, the scorekeeper shall reverse the names on the scoresheet, to record a win for the Thunder
August 2, 2010 at 6:15 am #16100vpatrolMemberAny win achieved by a team in red, yellow, white or blue shall in fact be a victory for the green team regardless of whether they are playing or not.
August 2, 2010 at 11:29 pm #16101nziceMemberThe length of the game can (and has been) be constrained by the rinks next commitment. Therefore we have seen (in a final), the change to clock time vs stop time during 3rd Period.
The event rules state
“8.4 Insufficient time to play Overtime and/or Penalty Shoot Out
If there is insufficient time to carry out overtime the teams can go straight to a penalty shoot out (the referee to decide). Should there not be enough time to do either the game will be declared a draw with 1 point awarded to each team.”
August 2, 2010 at 11:41 pm #16102Azzy77ModeratorThe event rules also state
If the game is tied at the end of regulation time, a five-minute overtime period shall be played
immediately after an intermission of three minutes. It doesn’t give the referees the prerogative to extend the game time, only reduce it.
Although I shouldn’t really complain, Thunder scored the game winning goal after the 5 minutes had expired. -
