MemberI’m doing some modifications to the site at the moment and any posts which are made in the next hour may or may not be accidentally deleted.
So don’t go posting any life threatening/urgent pre-Christmas messages on here

MemberAnd the prize for moron of the year goes to … me!
I just spent the past 30 mins trying to figure out why the new forum wasn’t working
” title=”Sad” /> Turns out I had deleted most of it
” title=”Tongue” /> Woops!
Things will be a bit messy this afternoon as I attempt to do some major alterations ready for Christmas day.
Sorry for any inconvenience

MemberActually … it didn’t work on any of the main pages of the site expect the home page and the forum.
But it’s fixed now.

MemberTesting … We now have quick reply boxes at the end of topics so you don’t need to click “reply” anymore. Jason Sedgwick requested this about a year ago, but I never figured out how to do it until a week or so ago.
If you can see this post, then the quick reply box is working … test over.

MemberForum looks nice Ryan. Why doesn’t http://dunedinicehockey.hellyer.kiwi/forum/ work anymore – redirects to home page. Is it no longer possible to construct a front page just for the forum?

MemberI’ve been trying to avoid people using just the forum. You aren’t the first person to ask for this though so I’ll look at putting another one back in. Some people kept bypassing the main page which was a pain as they were missing out on the most important bits of news, hence removed the forum index.
I did this in a mockup I showed a bunch of people a while back and no one commented on it so I assumed it wouldn’t be a problem – ironically the people I showed the mock up to are the ones that have requested having it back!

[/quote:zrkonexp]I’ve added the forum index back.
There’s now a bug which causes the site to redirect you to the forum index on logging out now though which I’ll need to fix some time.

MemberThe forum text is still really small on the Mac version of Firefox.
Isn’t there a browser-specific hack you could use?

[/quote:3p9bv2op]Good to have that back. When I go to the main page it acts like I’m logged in – shows all the forums I have access to. When I go to the forum main page, it just shows the three general ones. A bug?

Erm, we’ll see. I could do that, but I’d rather not as it would require browser sniffing which is quite annoying considering it seems to be a bug in the browser, not my code. I’ll try to find a better solution.

It sounds like some sort of caching issue as it’s working fine for me.

MemberNope that doesn’t do it.
It can’t be a caching issue. I’ve never had the forum with only three boards, so there’s no cache with that setup.

[/quote:230vl720]That’s weird. I have no idea what could be causing that as the only thing about the index that I’ve changed is the change of theme, but it’s an off the shelf theme apart from the header and footer so it should work fine.
Is anyone else having this problem?

MemberTitles need some work too. The main forum page comes up with ‘My Community’, and these ones just have the topic name. Maybe needs the club name or something?

[/quote:hfkxrl9a]Good point. I’ll change the forum titles to the same format as the rest of the site shortly.
The index was messed up because I had no intention of using it, hence hadn’t bothered to get them to work correctly.
