Bode is organising an inline hockey game at the Caledonian gymnasium. All players wanted, big, small, round, skinny, skilled, unskilled, short, tall and anything in between.
Cost is unknown, time is unknown, but I’ll post back as soon as I get all the details from Bode.
The Caledonian Gymnasium is on Andersons Bay road right beside the Warehouse. The surface is an immaculate polyurethaned wooden surface. No boards so there’ll be some rules which you’ll be told on the night for safety purposes. Helmets and some protective equipment and skates are available to use at the gym. Goalie equipment is available for anyone wanting to play in goal.

May 27, 2007 at 9:18 am #4197imported_RyanMemberEr, it turns out she never actually booked anything. So I guess this is unlikely to go head unless she can get a booking before Wednesday. I’ll post back once I hear something from her.
Ryan,
May 29, 2007 at 12:12 am #4198KyleMemberI’ve inquired as to whether or not it’s available. If it is I’ll book it and let you guys sort out getting people there.
As it’s a Wednesday night I can’t make it, so you’ll have to be all responsible in my absence.
May 29, 2007 at 12:52 am #4199imported_RyanMemberI wouldn’t panic Kyle. She just wanted some practice stopping wheels before playing for the Rimutaka Renegades in Wanganui on the weekend. But I live about 30 seconds walk from somewhere suitable for that anyway. Can’t use pucks there (cars everywhere) but it’ll do for skating purposes.
Ryan,
May 29, 2007 at 12:54 am #4200KyleMemberWell you’re too late now, it’s booked! 9pm tomorrow night.
go forth and round up people.
May 29, 2007 at 12:58 am #4201imported_RyanMemberThanks Kyle,
Could you send an email bomb to the DIHL list?
In the mean time I’ll send an email to all those I have contacts for at hand.Ryan,
May 29, 2007 at 1:34 am #4202imported_RyanMemberActually I think I’ve covered most of the likely suspects with my email and this post so probably don’t need to go annoying a bunch of people with an email bomb.

Steffy is very keen for playing goalie tomorrow night at inline!
Ryan can play in one goal il play in the other! awesome!
May 29, 2007 at 5:03 am #4204imported_RyanMemberActually there’s only one goal and Ryan Wick has already booked it. Sorry.
Plus Becky may be coming and maybe even Jaimee so that’d be four goalies!
I just hope we have enough out players! So far we have:
[list:3vcm5xni]
[*:3vcm5xni]Deanna from Edmonton[/*:m:3vcm5xni]
[*:3vcm5xni]Jenel Bode[/*:m:3vcm5xni]
[*:3vcm5xni]Moi[/*:m:3vcm5xni]
[*:3vcm5xni]Ryan Wick (goal)[/*:m:3vcm5xni][/list:u:3vcm5xni]But I’m sure a bunch extra will turn up on the night.

May 29, 2007 at 5:16 am #4205Azzy77ModeratorI may come have a jam as a player, haven’t done that for a while…..
If I get through some of the assignments I have been given.
Incidentally will there be a helmet for me to borrow, or shall we take it back old skool, no helmets, thats how we used to play on the tough streets of henley until I cut above my eye, on my opponents stick, we used to just play one on one.
I drove home, Its quite hard to see with blood in your eye.
But yeah if I could borrow a stick a helmet and some shinnies that would be overprotected for me! we used to play shirtless too, until all those late night excursions to KFC took their toll on my body.

And yep, there’s a bunch of protective gear there. In fact there’s much better equipment there than at the ice rink.
Required equipment is:
[list:1ew75o1k]
[*:1ew75o1k]Hockey helmet[/*:m:1ew75o1k]
[*:1ew75o1k]Shin guards[/*:m:1ew75o1k]
[*:1ew75o1k]Elbow pads[/*:m:1ew75o1k]
[*:1ew75o1k]Inline skates[/*:m:1ew75o1k][/list:u:1ew75o1k]
[size=1:1ew75o1k]Inline hockey skates are not compulsory, but your skates must not have any protruding bolts or chassis parts which may damage the floor – a common problem with aggressive inlines. If you do have sticky outty bolts then make sure you cover them up with a stack of tape to prevent them damaging the floor.[/size:1ew75o1k]Ryan,
May 29, 2007 at 5:45 am #4207Azzy77ModeratorHahah, that reminds me when I used to play Gaelic football our coachwho shall remain nameless, always suggested we play shirts versus skins and before you could offer another suggestion off came his shirt.
And one point in time, my teammate was sure that everytime he turned around the coach turned around he had one less item of clothes on, Suffice to say, my friend made sure to keep eye contact with the coach the entire time after the coach had managed to get from full tracksuit down to just soccer shorts in about 5 minutes.

The odd thing is, according to the moderator logs you haven’t edited anything since May 23, 2007, 01:39:55 PM, but my post which you claim to have edited was created today!
