Some people have been reporting a server error page appearing when they came to visit the site. If that happens, just try back in 10 min or so and it should fix itself. The host I’m on guarantees 99.9% uptime, but that other 0.1% is spent rebooting, upgrading etc. They typically do upgrades during the USA night time to avoid problems for most of their users, but since we’re in NZ that some times means the upgrades occur during our peak hours. Don’t worry though, the website is not gone permanently!
If you find the site is inaccessible for more than 30 mins or so, try clearing your browser cache. If that doesn’t work, try using a different ISP if possible as your ISP may have cached the error page (Otago Uni. is really bad for doing this) which is a pain in the butt. Failing all of that, text me ASAP (021-297-2698) as something has probably gone horridly wrong.
There is also a slim chance that I’ll get booted off of my current web host at some stage as I’m pushing my account to bursting point and they’re going to pack a wobbly at me if my traffic increases much more. If that happens, they may just cut the account and send me an email. If you see a message saying the account has been suspended, then just email me, text me, phone me or any other method possible any time of the day as I’ll need to get a new host sorted ASAP. Hopefully this doesn’t happen, but I thought I’d let some of you regular users know just in case.
