I agree that those wanting to change things should go to the AGM. But they also need discussed before hand, which is what is being done here. The AGM is for voting on the final setup, not to have a huge debate (I assume) over the merits of the various options available.

I agree with that. The AGM should be the final vote on previously approved/discussed options. How that happens is also up for discussion. It takes a few days for me to marinade an issue in my head so the initial pissed off or disinterested feeling wears off. Knowing what the options are and arguments for and against prior would aid the process greatly IMO. I probably won’t be at the AGM next year so who really cares what I say though. ” title=”Sad” />

March 5, 2009 at 10:36 am #10098KyleMemberI think there’s a rule about goalies not getting a vote. Or if there isn’t, we might put one in ” title=”Smiley” />
Or maybe while the meeting is going on, everyone else will get to throw hard things at the goalies so they feel at home. We’ll see.

[/quote:2ojope0o]So instead of instituting change from within as being discussed here, all unhappy members should start up a side operation and side-step DIHA completely? Well that would never ever create problems ” title=”Wink” />. I’m sure the DIHA is overflowing with revenue anyway so the loss of these players would be a drop in the bucket. I’m not thrilled with a few things in the NZIHL as well, anyone want to start a trans-tasman league with me?
March 11, 2009 at 9:24 pm #10103Blackie Ducks ForeverMemberjust remeber that the dihl when started was not by the club but by a player . it then some how got taken over by the club later on. i know i was there then so if people are unhappy about the price and the way its run go out and start a new comp. if thats not you then pay the money and be happy.

All it would do is drive up costs for non-DIHL players which is creating an entirely new problem. We’re suggesting ways to grow the club, not compete against it. Helping to improve the way the DIHA does things is much more productive way of doing things.
And private ice time is too expensive so it would end up costing more in total anyway.
