    Hey,

    SIHL starts tomorrow morning with the peewees playing the first round here in Dunedin. 8am (thankfully daylight savings means its really 9, in my mind at least) Dunedin plays Gore, 12.30 Dunedin plays Queenstown. In between Queenstown plays Alex and Alex plays Gore I believe.

    Queenstown are the main competition in this grade, they’ve got some top quality peewees. Dunedin went 16-0-0 last year, but we’ve lost some good players up to the midgets so that 12.30 game is a big indicator of where the rankings stand this year.

    If you’re available come down and cheer them on, this is the only chance to see the peewees play in Dunedin this year thanks to the draw, and they’re a good team.

    Peewees beat Gore 22-3, and Queenstown 15-7. Both good games from the kids, they played really well.

    Hi,

    Open grade is this Sunday, here’s the timetable (in reverse order, because that’s how I roll):

    13/4/2008 1230 SIHL Open Queenstown Dunedin
    13/4/2008 1100 SIHL Open Alexandra Gore
    13/4/2008 930 SIHL Open Gore Queenstown
    13/4/2008 800 SIHL Open Dunedin Alexandra

    These are junior/senior players playing checking hockey, there should be a bunch of thunder/stampede level players out there, so it’ll be good hockey to watch.

    I’m also hoping to round up some goal judges. If anyone is planning to be at the games and can goal judge, please let me know.

    Peewees played Queenstown (dunedin won 10-2) and Gore (Dunedin won… er, 16-3?) this morning in Gore.

    Does anyone have the results of last weekends SIHL SNC games?

    Beasts lost to the Penguins…. Can’t remember the score, sorry.

    Beasts won against maniototo, 8-2 maybe?

    Sorry, I have no better idea than that.

    We lost 8-1 against the penguins, and like Chris said won 8-2 against Maniototo.  Not sure about any of the other games sorry.

    Dunedin peewees were up in Naseby this weekend. Beat Maniototo by a fair bit, and then Queenstown 8-3. It was a good tournament, Naseby was covered in snow, trip up was great.

    They’re now 22-0-0 over the past two years. They’re in Alexandra this coming Saturday.
