MemberOk, so I have a composite Easton Typhoon which I really like, but the toe is broken. The outer “skin” is mostly intact, but the internal pieces are gone (the piece that’s missing is about the size of a cellphone.
Is there any way these can be fixed?

MemberYou can cut the head off as low down on the shaft as possible and buy a new head either timber or composite. If its too short you can add a timber extension to the top as well

MemberWhat do you mean by “toe”? AFAIK Typhoon’s aren’t available as a one-piece so it wouldn’t have a blade which is where I normally think of the toe being, although I could be wrong and there is now a Typhoon one-piece available.

Membertyphoon is a shaft as far as I know. Is the shaft damaged? if so, you could technically cut off the damaged bit (I don’t think that shaft was tapered) and make up the length by putting in a wooden extension at the grip end. The flex will change slightly but I’m not sure you will know the difference

MemberNope, they’re not tapered. I snapped one years ago directly in the middle, jammed a hunk of wood between the two and used it. The flex was affected by doing that, but like you said, if it’s the end then you probably wouldn’t notice any difference.

MemberIt’s definitely an easton typhoon, and it’s definitely a one-piece, and it’s definitely the toe that’s broken. Not sure about whether it’s tapered, might have to have a look. Maybe you guys are thinking of the cyclone? the Cyclone is two-piece, I have one of those too.

MemberNope, I’m thinking of the Typhoon. They must have released a one-piece version.
If the toe is broken then yer pretty much screwed I think. Fixing carbon fibre is a futile task. The best you can do is to patch it up, but it’s not really fixable. You are probably best off snapping the broken bits off and taping over the carbon shards so you don’t get splinters from it (carbon fibre/fibre glass splinters suck big time).

Memberyeah “fixing” is pointless. Just do what everyone does. Cut off of the blade and flip it upside down and add a blade on that end.
