Devils are up 4-0 with about 5 left in the first period, 5 minors to Botany, none to Devils

[/quote:276qlqk7]1st Period went to Swarm – both where the game was played, and shots on
2nd Period – Devils took their opportunities – and scored in all of them – clinical – Swarm had lots of pens in 2nd
3rd Period – Devils again outplayed Swarm – and finished well[/quote:276qlqk7]
Despite that canterbury is technically the enemy and their goalie Vince once touched me in a way that made me feel uncomfortable, I actually quite like the Devils, and I’m glad they’re getting the wins they deserve.

August 2, 2009 at 11:17 am #13388vpatrolMemberswarm outshot us 24 to 5 in the third period. We spent much of the 3rd in the box. They had just under 6 mins of 5 on 3. Lost count of the 5 on 4. Fun period as far as action. We got to work on the pk! Would rather have not played short handed though.
August 2, 2009 at 12:02 pm #13389KyleMemberWho was in goal for that pile of fun? Pretty good effort to stop 24 shots, that many of them short handed.

August 2, 2009 at 11:22 pm #13392KyleMemberThat basically confirms that it’ll be a Red Devils – Stampede final doesn’t it. Swarm are 10 points behind and they’ve only got 4 games (8 points potentially).
Admirals are on 7 points with 6 games to go, so could technically make it, if they win all their remaining games and Canterbury get no more points.
So the final rounds will resolve the question of where the final will be held – Queenstown or Christchurch.
August 2, 2009 at 11:25 pm #13393Azzy77ModeratorYeah I think you summise rightly Kyle.
And the Stampede need to win both I think to secure Home.Unless there is a miracle in Canterbury next weekend. I think I saw a new star that direction last night…..
