    Hi,

There’s an ice hockey movie in the Documentary NZ festival which starts today. It’s called Thin Ice, it’s about a group of Hindu women who form a female team in northern India, against the opposition of men in the competition. They have to make all their own equipment, and ice. Because of a shortage of numbers they had to merge their team with another village, of Muslim women.

    More information here: http://www.doxafestival.ca/festival/thin_ice
It’s on Monday 15h October, 7:30pm, Hoyts, and again Saturday 20th October, noon.

The movie is in Hindi with subtitles.

Dolkar and her friends in school have to create all that is needed for hockey from scratch, everything from hockey skates and sticks to the very ice they skate on.[/quote:r5gqsgi6]

Does that mean they made an artificial rink? Or they swept some ice off of a pond?

It just says “Dolkar and her friends in school have to create all that is needed for hockey from scratch, everything from hockey skates and sticks to the very ice they skate on.”

If you want more than that, you’ll have to go see the movie.
