How does anyone think the games will go in the weekend? Whos travelling to support the team?. I no i’ll be there and just hoping we can get some good support down there for the away games, to support the team hoping we’ll get a better outcome than lastweek. Although its not looking promising after the christchurch games I hope we can atleast leave with a little bit of respect if the boys can keep it within 10 goals i’ll be happy
June 24, 2009 at 7:44 am #11796Puck LoverMemberYou know what Jofa player is dead right the boys need as many supporters as we can down there this weekend because I’m sure as always the queenstown public will be out in force. 3 hours is not a long drive for the fireworks I am expecting, nothing like a local grudge match! I think the team will do well down there this week on the smaller ice surface and The stampede will feel the force of the big rigs like Van leuween. I think the boys will take it to them and as we know some of the stampede have pretty short fuse’s ( a few helmet throwing incidents) hopefully we will throw them off there game. We may not get the win against a good team full of experience but I’m looking for a close one and a couple of goals will be nice!

Its going to be a great showdown of the 2 great southern sides
June 24, 2009 at 10:09 pm #11798plod16MemberWhen I saw the Stampede two weeks ago I thought that they had improved immensely since last year and thought that the games against the Swarm would provide a good indicator for the season. They certainly skated well and played a good system based game plan thoughout the entire game. It will be a hard ask in their own rink. Common problem again for the Thunder when they play against a team that has had it’s core for the last couple of years and then throw in some good young guys. They didn’t make the finals in the last couple of years but this could be their year!

Our team definitely appreciates any support you are willing to give and I promise you that I will try to make this game as physical and clean as possible can and say our team is ready to pummel some Stampede as well!
