I reckon not Vince. The players would have been going “if I can score a goal on Roberto, I’m going to be an Australian ice hockey legend forever. I’ll get him to sign my stick after the game and I’ll sleep with it rather than my girlfriend.”
Or something like that.
They would have scored on him because the players wouldnt have seen “Luongo” written on his back cause he would have been facing them. If he was wearing a thunder jersey they wouldnt even know who he was when he turned around
or perhaps the more conventional reason of him being better than any player south of the equator.
“Since I’m donimating the AIHL, I’m sure I can score on this chump. Hey guys this chump has Luongo on his back. Who does he think he is?”
“Ummm, I think he’s Luongo”
