This is one of my favourites.. Billy Guerin (here a Blues but now a shark)has really intense facial expressions when he plays — he really seems to amp himself up for every shift. Some guys are mouth breathers and make for crappy photos and some players are expressionless (Marleau). Billy is expressive and intense. Although the focus is on the goalie(Billy is a little out of the focal plane) I like that you can see the intensity of the game in this photo. Also I really like that you can see exactly where everyone is looking. The goalie, Toskala, knows exactly where the puck is and so does Guerin and the defender. It’s surprisingly hard to get a shot of both faces and the puck. If I had been on the opposite side of the rink I would have only seen the backsides of the players.

May 7, 2007 at 7:29 am #3174rookie19MemberHey ladies,
Just an update for everyone, especially ‘pretty boy’ Wick, God and master of the tinted visor!
Buffalo Sabres went through to the next round today, with a win over the Rangers. Game 5 of the series in my opinion the best game of the NHL playoffs so far, showing why Buffalo are the best team in the league!!! Lets go Sabres!!!
Check out the action from game 5: a must watch!! Afinogenov (again) making Crosby look like a child!!! Wow.

May 7, 2007 at 10:24 am #3175battered_and_bruisedMemberWhat a looooooser!!!! I mean any person in their right hockey mind would know not to back the Choke artists of the Cup Finals, the Buffalo Sabres. I mean really, what kind of chumps would wear something that resembles a bald man’s hair piece as their logo or even something that looks like a slug? I know you would Steffi-Pooh. But we still love you…some more then others ” title=”Grin” />
May 7, 2007 at 2:49 pm #3176rookie19MemberHaha, Ryan, Ryan, Ryan
What are we going to do with you??The slug team uniforms may not look the best, but youl be watching the mighty Sabres in the next round while your beloved Canucks get out the golf clubs!!
Afinogenov = God
May 7, 2007 at 11:31 pm #3177KyleMemberWell we’re down to 5 now. Buffalo and Ottawa make fairly impressive advances in the East. Ottawa is looking like a bit of a dark horse, they got rid of New Jersey 4-1, which is no easy feat. Stefan’s Sabres made to work a bit 4-2 against the Rangers.
Joe’s San Jose, of the good photos are still in it, but they’ve got to beat Detroit at home and then away to take it 4-3, which is a tough ask. Whoever goes through will face off against the Ducks who looked fairly good against Vancouver.
May 8, 2007 at 4:48 am #3178JoeMemberWell the Sharks are finished. It’s really hard to advance in the playoffs with an inexperienced blue line and I think that’s what happened to San Jose. The battle between the Ducks and the Red Wings should be a good one. Pronger vs Lidstrom and Chelios.
I bet the Sharks are already working on a post season deal to firm up their blue line.
Don Cherry said (pre-play-offs)the final would be between The Ducks and the Sabres. He’s gtting close to being right.

[/quote:34u1h77h]He said the Sens and the Ducks. Not the Sabres.
May 9, 2007 at 5:55 am #3180TomMemberDon Cherry is awesome i reckon he should be the commissioner of the NHL instead of Gary Bettman.

May 11, 2007 at 4:20 am #3182Azzy77ModeratorOhhhh Sens up 1-0, sabres only managing 20 shots……..your boy going to have to lift his game steffi
May 11, 2007 at 5:02 am #3183battered_and_bruisedMemberSHould we mention that in the first period that the Sabres gave up 2 shorthanded breakaways and one of them led to the Sens 1st goal? or should we not tell steffi-pooh about that? lol
May 13, 2007 at 9:12 am #3184Azzy77ModeratorOh man sabres down 2-0, steffi, talk about putting the pressure on yourself, what are your boys in Buffalo playing at……
Btw whats with sabres management telling the elevator operator to not let the senators management into the elevator what a poor sport…..
Btw I think that first goal should have been allowed… but you know who cares
May 14, 2007 at 2:32 am #3185TomMemberIt was a pretty sweet game though Thomas Vanek scoring on his knees in the first period and then Daniel Briere scoring with 10 seconds to go sending the game to OT.
May 15, 2007 at 2:21 am #3186Azzy77ModeratorUh oh looking not so good for the sabres, 3-0
Going for tht comeback special eh steffi-pooh, just ask Ryan, I eman Canucks had a 3-1 series lead, but they managed to blow that
Still they are going to have to challenge Emery more if they wanna come out victorious
