Only two teams have ever come back to win a series after being down 3-0 in the play-offs. The Sabres’ misfortune shows how different play-off hockey is from the regular season; it’s almost like two distinct leagues. Will Cherry be right? It’s killing me to miss these games but then I remember that back home the flowers are out, the sun is shining and everyone is scratching their heads wondering why hockey is still on the tube.
The only thing keeping New Zealand from being a perfect country is the lack of NHL on TV. That and the fact that it’s nearly impossible to get a left-handed stick. OK there might be a couple of other things that I forgot but still could we just get a freaking game on TV?

PS: Go Sens………..

Downloading and streaming hockey is okay, but there is nothing like just being able to sit down turn on the old box, and watch some hockey, There is a lot of people complaining on NHL.com about lack of nhl in nz, the NHL dude replied saying they are renegotiating the contracts so that ESPN international can carry the game outside USA apparently, which will hopefully mean Sky will pick up the coverage.

Hopefully like last year the Stanley Cup series will be on Sky cos I think ABC gets it in America so Sky can pick that up…

Yeah. I checked the sky tv online guide this morning to see, but it only went forward about 9 days, which was just at the end of the conference finals. Anyone who has the whole month or next month in that magazine might be able to tell us if they’re going to play the finals again.

You need to be given access to use it though, it’s not open to the public. I’ll PM you my login and password so you can use that. Tom is currently using mine.

They changed the site name to
http://www.5h0le.com/vb/ but they emailed me saying that one of managers got in a fight with another one of the managers and delted everything so it is not currently working which sucks considering it is playoff time !
You need a 5minsforfighting account aswell (thats the site they give you the link to with the torrent).

I will PM you my acount name and password for that

Hopefully it will be working soon

Just don’t do anything else, is all i can suggest, or pettition telecom to get us proper broadband.

But I watched a game on sunday and it was fine pretty much no lag
It does take a wee bit to warm up, like lagging for first 2-3 minutes then seems to be fine.

Also depends on what stream you trying to catch sometiems the guys put to hi-def and its way to much info for our paltry internet to handle

I’ve found the effort of downloading games off the internet really unrewarding. My computer is a mac, and the bizarre varieties of files that people post are really unhelpful. Some of them are windows-specific files. I’ve also downloaded half-gigabyte files which just don’t play because they’re corrupt. It’s an underground community so it’s very unreliable.

If some people have gotten it working that’s great, but I’ve found it’s just not worth the effort – I enjoy watching good hockey, but I don’t want to spend hours mucking around to get no result. If anyone had dvds that they could bring down to the rink I’d take them away and watch them, but otherwise I’ll just deal with the fact that we don’t get it and miss out.

That’s odd as I was having the opposite trouble, I needed a Mac to play the videos. After some fiddling I did find ways to get them to work. I haven’t had any problems other than that. Fast downloads and good quality video. Much easier than downloading TV shows, movies etc. as there’s less crud to filter through.

Funny, our fairthful Bandwagon jumper has yet to comment on Buffalo being down 3-0. He did send me a text saying “F***ing Emery, Go Sens!!!!”. lol Oh stefi Pooh, when will you ever learn that season stuff does not count in the playoffs?

#3201

So it is official. The Sabres are out. I feel sorry for all the people who voted for them on this poll. When will people learn that stuff that happens in the regular season means nothing in the playoffs. The Sabres got DOMINATED by the Sens. They were badly out played in every game. The only thing that kept them from being a swept was Ryan Miller. They were out shot every game as well. Lets just hope the hockey gods will shine on Canada this year. They have been getting our hopes up for the last 2 Cup finals then shooting us down in game 7. This season looks like the Cup could finaly come home to Canada and what better way then to have it go to the nation’s capital. GO SENS GO!!!!!
