The planning weekend set in place a 7 game premiere series which was timetabled to start towards the end of March. That hasn’t been finalised yet, but that would probably be a good place to start.

Someone else would know more about what’s happening with Thunder – practises, trials etc.

I was under the impression that there was a league that ran for the bulk of the year?  In the vicinity of feb-until october.

That’s the Dunedin Ice Hockey League. it will start at the same time (ish) – we wait for the varsity students to come back, which is end of February, then there’s a couple of weeks of pulling it together, so mid-March it will likely start then.

I’m not sure if Thunder players will be playing in the DIHL this year. That’s something to be negotiated between the two.

Last I knew there wasn’t any volunteers to run the A-grade either, which I assume is where you would be playing. No volunteer = no league unfortunately.

I’d presume if the premiere series happened again, the DIHL would be everyone left – an open competition.

You couldn’t take 30 players out of the A grade and run it, there’s only ever been about 50 at most players in it.

all I want is to play in regular games that are quasi-serious.  Whatever league that’s in, I’m not sure.  I can offer a bit of time to help organize if required.

There’s no point in running an A-Grade if the prem series goes ahead with 30 players, but there might be some more players this year for the B-Grade, which might allow for a split league
